It's that time of year around these parts when the weather is difficult to rely upon for consistent temps and the amount of sunlight diminishes significantly. What do you do before Winter sneaks up on you... you ride when you can. I took an extended lunch break this last week on a supremely beautiful day with temps in the 70's for a quite ride around Ispwich, Essex and Goucester. Had an enjoyable little hike to the ocean, a satisfying meal and saw some quirky roadside odditites.

A great little stretch of road off of HWY 1, it's not face paced, it's on the short side for distance but the scenery is really nice and the roads are a real treat with a few technical turns thrown amongst the sweepers, plus there is hardly any traffic.

Nothing beats the cod bites at JT Farnham's Famous Clams, so many clam shacks around this is my favorite with great outdoor seating.

The Interceptor approves of the view.

I don't know the name of this location and I can never find it on a map but I find myself here often when I'm just meandering down roads that I like between Essex and Gloucester.

The tree line before the ocean at Rafes Chasm Park. It's a very short hike off the road with some tremendous views.

I saved the best pic for last!

Looking forward to a few more Fall rides before the bikes get packed away for the year but I don't think any of them will be as nice as this.

Nice post. Great pix. We have had about 1 1/2 weeks of great sunny weather here and are expecting another week at least. Very unusual for that here. Between the bicycle and VFR, I have been getting out almost daily for a ride of some sort. Though we have some great MC roads here, they aren't quite as quaint and photogenic as what you have there. I really should get back to the UK again.

Last year I rented a bike out of Vancouver and rode a route called the Lake Duffy loop and it was spectacular. Just to clarify, I live in New England, not the UK.

Well, I am sure there are some great quaint areas to ride in New England too. That too is on my wish list of places to visit. Yes, The Duffy Lake Loop is quite the ride. We have a lot of very scenic rides in southern BC. Too bad we could not have hooked up. I am just an hour or so east of Vancouver and ride to the city often (or used to0 just for a lunch or beer. If you did the loop, complete circuit, you had to have ridden within a mile of my house off the freeway

I was so close to your house, I rode HWY 7 west after coming down from Lilooet where I spent the night. It was a great run and great memories. I rented a BMW F800GT out of Vancouver and took a slow two day trip through the loop. Stopped at Whistler (with everybody else), Pemberton, Lillooet, Spences Bridge and some Harley bar real close to your neck of the woods.

I also really liked the F800GT, a real nice light handling sport tourer.

You live in such a beautiful part of the world, if I ever get a chance to return to ride I'll keep in touch and if you ever get to the Boston area let me know.

Ah yes. The birthplace of America. Would love to spend a couple weeks in that area. The year we took American History in school was the only year I enjoyed history at all. Hated the rest of that shit. Canadian history is rather bland.

If you took Hwy 7 all the way back, when you went over Mount Woodside west of Agassiz, and looked to the south, that is Chilliwack on the other side of the Fraser. I was waving at you and you ignored me you bugger.

Sorry, there was this really long, flat, straightaway with great sightlines on HWY 7 so I decided to see how fast the F800GT would go and I didn't want to take my hands off the grips to take the time to wave.
    :wheelie:

Of course it was in kilometers and my American education couldn't cope with the conversion. :(
