Damn! My dad and I shared an 82 Magna. I got to ride it to HS and he got to ride it on the weekends. I loved that bike, it was great, even if it was a cruiser. If only...

Wow, that's some counter-rotating goodness right there.

Just one of the two discovered in that condition would have been an amazing find, but the pair together is bizarre. If they'd turned out to be a pair of Sabres from the same time frame people would completely lose their minds.

    Maybe...
The Magnas were the fastest 1/4 mile production bikes at the time, just a bit better than the Sabres, because the slightly stretched architecture lent the ability to get away from the line with less tendency to wheelie. 10 seconds @ 130, IIRC.

Speaking of Sabres, here was another great ad:

I have a favorite saying that's very similar - Those who say it cannot be done should get out of the way of the ones doing it... :)

A 2001 Magna got me into V-4's. Wish I could have kept that bike, but I found it to be impractical for me.

Funny that you mention the wheelie thing. It's ironic that the Magna/Sabre engine rotates opposite to the bike's wheels which is an engineering technique used in motoGP to reduce the tendency of those bikes to power-wheelie out of corners.
