With 70% of the roll already gone, somebody gave it a heck of a shot :Frusty:. Electrical tape is only a temporary fix anyway.

Any chance it's just old as shit? I've had some good and some not so good tape in the past but it will usually stick a bit even when it's of the not so good variety

Probably not what this is, but some electrical tape isn't sticky. You just wrap it back upon itself.

It's true, we used to use a silicone tape that we called Fuji or guide line Tape when wrapping harness on aircraft. It was very soft an stretchy and it sealed the harnesses well.

When they replaced the power drop line to our house they used at least a half roll of tape on each of the 3 connections.
I watched the guy go around and around and around with the tape. Have not examined it up close.
Yes, I guess it is temporary like all things. If it lasts until I move or am dead, close enough. :Yo:

When I was working down in Cabo San Lucas, that’s all the electricians used, I don’t think they ever seen a wire nut! All of the electrical wiring was done with tape, you should see how they fished wires through conduit. One guy on each end of the conduit with some stove pipe wire with a hooked end, trying to hook the other guys hooked wire. You should have seen their look of fascination and amazement when my partner loaned and show them how to use a fish tape.

I don't think it's meant to last more than 50 years squirrel.

It looks like you bought it in 1977. Maybe it dried out.

Yeah, I think it's called irony: "the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect."

Surprisingly it's been around a very long time, funny you just noticed it.
