So I just bought this little beauty:

And because I work as a graphic designer I'm almost compelled by nature to find a helmet that looks good with the bike.

I told myself I would never buy another AFX helmet after my earlier experience this Spring with a cheaper model I had bought because I liked the way it looked. It wasn't an awful helmet but definitely cheap, especially the levers and mechanical bits, the shell and insert seemed decent enough. Anyway, the order has been placed and the FX-105 Thunderchief will make it's way from the internet to my doorstep in a matter of days. Wish me luck!

Nice. Hopefully this one will not disappoint you. I typically buy plain one color helmets but the last time I replaced my all white one, I ended up getting one that was multi color. It just looked too nice to pass up. It was the Shoei GT-Air Decade model.

Thanks OOTV, I used to have a GT Air, it was a really nice helmet. I regret selling it off. I'll do a follow up on this helmet when it arrives. The only review I could find online was on youtube and it was in Hungarian.

take a photo of the bike with the new helmet resting on the fuel tank or seat and post it here.

You got it. I haven’t even received an email that it’s been shipped yet so it might be at least a week.

Here are a couple of pics of the helmet with the bike.

As you can see the blue and white look great and match the bike paint pretty well. The red on the helmet is a lot hotter, brighter almost but not quite a fuschia. The helmet itself seems to be of good quality unlike the FX95 helmet I purchased earlier this year. I have three gripes at the moment. The snap to attach the strap is almost up inside the helmet and is hard to reach. The drop down sun visor has a too large cut out for the nose. And finally, it's kinda on the hefty side... sorta like the VFR I suppose.

Have not worn it while riding yet so no comment on wind noise. I have worn it for about 45 minutes at my desk while I worked this morning. Mostly comfortable but I had a slight dull pain on the top of my head. I've never experienced this in a helmet before, it's usually the front/back or sides. Will give it another try for an hour in house before I decide to keep or return.

Looks good at least. Hopefully it'll work out for you, returning stuff is usually a big PITA.

Wow, it's definitely a match made in heaven as far as design goes.

I really liked the looks of that helmet and it wasn't bad for a cheapo AFX helmet, recommended. However, the thing didn't fit me proper with a hotspot right on top of my head so I had to return it.

Instead I bought this one and it's just about perfect and incredibly light. It's an HJC RPHA 11 Pro Darter.

HUBBA HUBBA! Now there’s a nice helmet all around! Glad you found something better!

I wanted a Rossi clone helmet but I hear the low end models aren’t good. I like my Joe Rocket but it’s a bit on the loud side, need to wear plugs for long trips or I ring like a bell afterwards.

Speaking of a Bell, I purchased a Bell Race Star (carbon blend) early April, and have really liked it. Bought a smoked shield at the same time. Shield change in less than 30 seconds. Impressive venting, no buffeting from wind, and relatively quiet. I'm happy.

I bought this Rossi AGV K3. Really love the design but it hurts my noggin' after about an hour. Didn't realize the hot spot would be so bothersome until after I rode with it so I was unable to return. Doesn't matter, I like the design so much I will take a little pain and only use it for short rides now.

Im thinking about buying this helmet with the Captain America graphics to match my 2007 red/white/and blue vfr. Are you happy with it? What can you tell me about it? Im mostly looking for quiet, anti fog, and a warm chin.

I’m very happy with this helmet, fitment should be your number one concern. If the shape of the helmet fits you then I Whole-heartedly recommend. It’s amazingly light and mechanically well put together. Hard to say if it’s loud, I always wear ear plugs and I would say it’s better than average for quietness but not the best I’ve worn. It comes with a pin lock insert for fogging but I’ve never used it. I believer it has a chin curtain but I may be confusing that with my old Shoei, none the less I haven’t experienced any coldness around the chin. I have experienced my lips drying out from air coming through the vents near the mouth, even with the vents closed I get a bit of this. Still, I would rank this just about the best helmet model I’ve ever owned especially how well it measures up to Arai and Shoei for a fraction of the cost.

The Rpha 11 is a great helmet with great venting, ideal for warm weather or trackdays, it fits on the small side so you need to go a size up.
