    Ok if its all fixed now, please also consider adding a cheapo digital voltmeter - you can pick them up for buttons on Tbay - just choose the type which shows volts as a number - not a line of flashing lights. A voltmeter won't prevent a repeat, but it will at least give you a chance to spot if there are charging system issues developing and give you a chance to head for some place safe before whatever energy is left in the battery is drained and you end up stranded.

    Thanks man. I forgot to add something. The stator checked out fine on the first test but when I got around to checking it again, AC voltage at idle fluctuated between 9 and 10 V. No bueno....

    That's a very neat install - if they ever add in a couple of USB outlets to a voltmeter install like that it would be a best seller.
