Although not entirely about police, there are some funny bits about the police in it, I think you'll find it funny Greg. NOTICE: NSFW

I'm not in the US, but here I for one am very happy that they have discretionary powers.
It would be a crap world if everything was black and white.
I've been pulled over for speeding half a dozen times the last couple of years, twice for over 30kmh over the limit (a mandatory 3 month suspension here), I've never lied or given poor excuses and I was let off every time.
I also don't do stupid things in stupid places.

I wonder (hope) if they cut you some slack because 30 kph / 18.6 mph over = a 3 month suspension is pretty draconian. :Der:

Here, a group of 4 of us once got tix for 90+ in a 55. (We did not do it!) There was a fine paid because if the cop says you are guilty, you are guilty unless you prove yourself innocent. No suspension considered at all. Pay to play. I am not saying this system is any better. :Der:

Pick your time and place to go fast. :D

I think they usually let old codgers go.
As long as it is in a safe place.
One time I had the wife on the back and had cought up to a couple of young hoons that were fast on the straights, but held me up on the twisty bits.
We came out of a fast right hander and I was positioning myself to overtake, when I saw a radar trap.
The three of us got pulled up for doing 120 in a 100 zone.
The two young blokes got fined, then he came to me. I already had my helmet off and I was very polite and said hello.
He warned me that from there onwards was Cessnock (city) police area, and that they were all pricks.
He told me to watch out and keep out of trouble, then let me go.
Saying speeding laws here are draconian is an understatement, but the majority of cops are honest blokes that give you a break unless you're an idiot.

When I was an idiot back in the 80's, I couldn't go out of my front gate without getting booked.
Back then you got 12 points per year, every fine was either 1, 2 or 3 points.
Once you lost a point, you didn't get it back for 12 months.
Use up your 12 points, you lose your licence for 3 months.
My worst year (1986 when I bought a new VFR750F) I lost 26 points, most of them in a 4 week riding holiday.
So I packed my bags and went interstate, got a Queensland licence, then came back when my suspension was over.
One of the tickets was from a cop who was stopped on the road booking someone else.
No radars back then, but he said he could hear me riding up the hill (I had very loud pipes on it), he stated he heard me red line it for the first five gears, and reckoned I was doing over 180 when I came over the rise, I was, but that wasn't the point. He just guessed at it and booked me.
Not much I could argue, specially being in my early 20's.
You play the game, you pay the tax.

Every ticket I've ever gotten, I've deserved and I've deserved more tickets than I've ever gotten.

    See #24, I didn't do it.
Also got one for changing lanes w/o signalling. OK, maybe I did, buy why spend 20 minutes looking up what to write me for?
And, driving with back window obstructed, or whatever, it was fogged up in winter. Said he was behind me for x miles and I did not stop.
OK, Hawkwind was probably playing too loud.
    Anyway........ :homer:

Just because everyone loves them and they all seem to have nice houses, boats, trucks, pretty wives, cool dogs, as much workout time as they want, and "I" schedules and stuff... Damn them! lol

I tell you they do pretty well in Cali, but they work during fire season.
My buddy is a fireman and his ass is sent all over the place for long hours when there's a wildfire.
I don't recall him ever talking about any structure fires in town. I guess those are the exception where we live.

Have family member at the top of the fire food-chain in the bay. Millionaire.
As a small business-owner with no benefits, ever increasing taxes, fees, and regulations, it's difficult not to resent.
