    I did this a couple months ago, but since PB effed us, I had to find a new photo service, now trying SmugMug. This is also an excuse to practice the photo post up........

    Anyhoo I thought while my bike looked like this....

    It would be a no brainer time to whip off the pair valve system....

    Starting out - obviously pull or cut the hoses to the OEM covers.... on the front at least on a 5th gen unbolt the oil cooler and let it hang down...
    Then unbolt the Pair valve covers.... and it will look like.....

    Then once the stocker covers are off, grab a screw driver and pry the reed valve assemblys out...

    Once you have everthing out front and rear ---- here's the stuff.....

    Close up of the reed valve plates....

    Next take each plate and stick it in a vise.... shoot a bit of "Blaster" on it to get the screw loose and out.... Use a JIS screwdriver!!!!

    Next I did a clean up of the base pair valve plate and rubber gaskets.... Clean! Clean! Clean!

    And an also - while I'm at it....clean the "seats" where the assemblies go.... I sprayed the brake cleaner on a Qtip and swab out... More Clean! Clean!

    Now that that's done, you can work on pulling the pair valve pump.....

    There is a screw on the airbox that holds the pump hanger... unbolt it... I lived kinda dangerous and had the top of the airbox and aircleaner out... Dont drop that screw into the venturis....

    The other sticky wicket is the electrical connector from the pump to the harness.... Its a royal sumbitch to get loose, work at it, it will get there...

    Tape up the connector or I just hit it with large heat scrink

    Also pull the hose off that goes to the airbox and now pull that sucker outta there!

    You need to plug the open airbox port with a rubber plug....

    Hi. What does this influence and what do you mean by no more "pop pop pop"? :D I was doing the starter valves sync and i think i have this done on my bike. At least the connector and pipes which are taped up on my bike look very same as on your pics. And it really bothers me, since i have no clue to what they are and why they are taped and closed.

    Great pics and write up, not sure I'd have the confidence to go this deep into the bike anyway though, I'll run it by a mechanic mate to see what he thinks.

    This is a beautiful solution, way better than just plugging the hose with a marble. And even better this gets rid of all the clutter.
    Any chance you have the drawing for the block of plates? Since I don't live in the states and we have a nice cutter at work and plenty of stainless steel I would love to make these myself.

    Now that wouldn't be very nice, would it? Someone took their time to draw them up and make them to sell for their livelihood. Not cool to just steal someone's intellectual property.
