    Perhaps you can pull the helmet lock to get the key number. Might still match the cap and the cap mechanism might still work. Other than that its gonna be brute force and I've seen some messed up tanks after.

    There's no lock left to use a key on - it's like a miniature crater where the lock used to be! But yeah, that's what I'm trying to avoid....a messed up tank! ;)

    I started a new thread over in the 'mechanic' forum so am going to edit the OP and change it so I don't have two duplicate threads. I should have posted my question over there in the first place. But I really appreciate your reply and input, Captain 80's (great handle, BTW!).
