I have wanted a VFR for a while now. I guess I am like a lot of you guys, I have a fetish for bikes. I found my limit is 4 bikes, so when the VFR came up, I had to part company with one so as not to exceed the mandated limit. I let the 2002 Triumph Daytona go (sniff) and picked up the 2000 VFR. Love the VFR! Any recomended mods? Previous owner installed a K&N air filter, stock pipe. Bike runs great. How forgiving is the FI with aftermarked cans? Thanks -Pete
Absolutely no question, the pipe you want is a Staintune. I've had 4 different exhaust on my bike: stock, TBR C4 Titanium (POS), Scorpion CF oval & Staintune. No contest, the Staintune is the best of the bunch. The FI will not care what kind of pipe you run. I have a K&N & I simply can't tell a noticeable difference between it & stock. I got it for free so I can't complain. Now that I have one & see how the bike reacts, I would not spend the money on it if I were you. I've heard rumors that BMC makes a better air filter but I simply don't see the need to waste the money on it. I've had 3 windscreen on my bike, stock, Targa Sport Touring & ZG Double Bubble. Out of the 3, I like the ZG the best. I currently run Continental Road Attacks & have nothing but good things to say about them. Next on my plans: Power Commander (I'm going to do this to make the low speed (MSF Class speeds) injection more friendly) Pazzo Levers (I have small hands so I am not happy with the normal length levers) new grips (I screwed up the last set I put on so I need to put on a new set correctly) KC-10 FE out... lane:
Someone's figured out KC's password! Now the imposter is actually talking to the newbies and being nice to folks with helpful advice. Can someone ride to his place in NJ to see if he's locked in his Ford Truck or something  Oh, and welcome to the group Pete. Hope you get some riding time in before it turns cold. As I have a stock rig, I can't help much. :frown: Check the 5th Gen forum. Put some pictures up in the gallery and stick a pin in the map. there's lots of stuff if you just walk through the forum parts from "forum" button at the top of the page.
I take it this is all good natured ribbing? If not, when the door bell rings & it's two guys with Louisville Sluggers named Vito & Joey, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. KC-10 FE out... lane:
I don't know about the nature of it, but it is certainly ribbing. If they do show, I'm certian my puppy will lick them. I was worried you stopped hating everyone KC...
I have the Staintunes on with the PCIII (USB) and K&N. The standard downloadable map for this combination works well and gives a nice top end rush around 9800rpm. Town riding fuel economy has improved too. Have fun.
