    Hi everyone ,
I've got my first VFR 800 (red, year 2001)
I 've got many plans with the bike in the future but there is one thing I want to do soon AND I kinda need help :)
I got Givi topcase mount (monokey mount) which top case do you recommend / have?
I want something which can fit helmet and has some space to spare but is not overly tall.
    Soo what do you think?

Get one that fits your mounting system. I got a small Givi case for about $90 from Revzilla on my current bike. This one I think.

    https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-b29n-monolock-top-case

On the VFR, I had a larger one but did not see the need for it to be so large for me.
They give you a very low figure for a weight limit fwiw. Like 3 kilos.
Note the monolock and monokey systems are different. One is heavier duty, according to the video I found.

That is the same mounting system that I have. Do you know the name of the topcase?
Btw: I heard that Givi and Kappa make basically the same boxes. What is Kappa name for this mounting system? Is it also monokey?

I bought this one too, Just installed my Honda mount this weekend and now have to figure out how to mount the mounting bracket for the topcase. The adapter it came with does not seem to line up with the Honda bracket. For what I paid for the topbox I'm not surprised, a little bit of fiddling and it should be mounted properly though.

Mine didn't line up perfectly either, so I grabbed a big clamp to squeeze the Shad mount arms together a bit. That allowed the rack mounting holes to fit flush to the bottom of the mounting plate. I just marked the case mounting plate, drilled some new holes, and it was good to go. I am sure you can figure something out.

I had a quick look at it last night, made a small adjustment with the channel locks and it all seems like it will bolt up perfectly now.

Excellent! It's great when the simple solution fixes something.

I felt good about making fine adjustments with the channel locks instead of the big hammer for a change... :Canada:

I would gladly get something different but I already own a mount (and a bar which connects it to the bike...Don´t know the right english words for it) for Givi topcase...Going by this Picture i suppose it is a monokey mount....

It suits the VFR rather well and I don´t mind spending a bit more money for a propper Kappa/ Givi topcase.
So all things considered, I´d prefer something made in the same factory as the mount :)
For example when tried to google some topcases I found Kappa K49NT to be the best choice at the moment.

Just make sure when you get the brackets you get the newer version that mounts to the top of your grab handles
