OK, almost have all the parts available now to carry out the 17' wheel mods on a second gen 86VFR RWB. Going with a front 2.50/17 and a rear 4.50/17 along with a rebuilt fox twin clicker for the rear susp.
Have been searching for a few good pics of this mod already have being carried out(front and rear) but not much luck. Does anybody have a links to some good res pictures of this? Dying to see the outcome prior to commencing on mine!

    Thanks

You must be using a 1st gen Hurricane 600 front rim?

I would recommend the 3.50x17 front from a CBR600F2 instead.

Tire choice will then be be universal. 120/70-17

Finding a radial front to suit a 2.50 wide front rim is going to be almost impossible.

    I think even a 110/70-17 front radial needs a 3.00" rim.

A 1986 VFR is the first gen VFR, the second gen VFR was not sold in US and had 17 wheels.
Before the 86 VFR there were only VF:s.......................

    Sorry for beeing pointy.......

I agree finding a 110/80 radial is not easy these days. (the correct size for the 2,50 rim)
The 110/70 needs a 3,00 (but fit a 3,50 rim) but will fit the 2,50 rim, even if not correct. I rimember a friend had pirelli 110/70 front and 140/60 rear on a 1st gen Hurricane (CBR) 600. He didnt comblain.
I do perfer a 110/70 front on a modyfied VFR than a 120/60 or 120/70. I like how the 110/70 perform and feel better on mine whit a 3,50 rim front.
