Thanks Lint, it's sure the tallest motorcycle engine in production, what happened to the sleek lines of their V twins?

The VFR800 sounds much better IMO. The Panigale V4 sounds awfully farty.

That Duc V4 sounds EXACTLY like my old V65 Sabres and I think they sounded just as good as my VFR - just different. The VFR sounds like a small block Chevy V8 when you get on the gas. The V65 Sabre sounds exotic. Crankshaft differences.

That's exactly how I described the sound of my 87 VFR! :)

WHAT?!! Do you think Hardly's do? How about Cross Plane technology in R1's? Same opinion?

No, call me crazy but I don't get too excited over the sound of the newer R1's either - to me they sound weird. I understand that many folks rave about how great the cross plane sound supposedly is but I much prefer the sound of the S1000RR or Fireblade (with aftermarket exhaust).

I'm with GatorGreg, it sounds nice, but I'd prefer a screamer.

Yeah I was looking at that weird new "Interceptor" in Lint's thread - pretty cool.

Now THIS is an awesome sounding bike IMO - oh wait, it's mine! :D

I have owned a lot of inline 4 screamers with full exhaust systems and love that sound too. V 4's in any firing order are beautiful sounds. I also like a Duc twin with a pipe on it. One of my all time favorites was my Kawi triple 2 stroke with a nice set of chambers on it. Sick sound. Had to sell that bike, it was not called the widow maker no reason.

Arguably the sweetest sound would be one of the 2stroke V4's, NSR 500 for instance. I also really like the old Yahama TZ 750 sound too
