    "Someday, never comes."

    Creedance Clearwater.

Hopefully it does not apply to your parts. :)

From what I gathered, the individual parts could be ordered a la carte. So if push comes to shove (for me anyway), I will ask my dealer to cobble up the individual parts and ship them to me. On their dime.

    It's basically either $60 or $160.

Holy Shit All, Tanner and others where just trying to get a center stand! I am agreeing that Honda and this bike being "A Sport Tourer" Not a sport bike, should have come with a center stand period! (Why because of the long distances possible and needed repair work roadside) I will say that most bikes in this category usually have 2 models (ABS or Standard with no other options) and have a center stand stock! The fact that Honda offered 2 models of the VFR in the U.S. only and with a variety of other options other than "ABS or Standard" for some of us, was not realized until buying (because we saw the prices going from "12,999 to 6,899"! And maybe some of us would have gone the other way on another bike if not. I for one would have passed at the $12,000 mark on this bike, but could afford the standard as I thought it was the only one without much research.) Afterwards I found out about the Deluxe. At the time of my purchase they were still going for $9500 to $10,000, and would have passed on purchase at that price. I for one could give a shit about suspension upgrades, heated grips, turn cancelers etc. Learn to ride the bike as is and then make adjustments if you do not like it. Costly yes, but so are all upgrades!

Bottom line IMO the center stand on a bike that weighs 500+ lbs should have been Stock! On both models!

    Hey All,

a word on the centerstand that may save you a lot of money:

firstly: it is, indeed, an absolute bastard to install on the bike. the engineers could have raised the pipes from the rear bank an inch--there's f*cking space for it even--and the crucial bolt you need would be unblocked. but since someone on the design team was a bit of a jackass, you've gotta drop the whole system right down to the headers. oh well. that's not the important bit.

the important bit is that SIXTH GEN CENTERSTANDS ARE THE EXACT SAME KIT but waaay cheaper and more readily available. i got one for about $30 off ebay iirc and aside from the installation it's been great. made tire changing and chain maintenance a breeze. the seller listed it as being for '07, '08, and '09 models but the part number is the exact same as for the 8th gens, so if you're gonna get one, don't be afraid to look at the older ones to save you some frustration in looking for a used 8th gen one. and if you're wavering, i can tell you, it's definitely worth the cost and, if you're installing it yourself, the few hours of profanity it takes to get it on the bike.

I can confirm they are indeed the same stand as the 6th generation. You need supporting pieces, which is no big deal, just gotta piece-meal it together.

Since I have my pitbull stand, I'm going to wait for Japan to fulfill my order. The "fun" installation also lowers my sense of urgency, haha.

Also strange because in term of the DLX it's a spare for a current model.

Not exactly a consumable item though is it, it would also be one hell of a wreck to damage that piece of industrial strength hardware

Damn, looks like I got the last cheap one for the 14' on ebay and got it in 3 days. So much hassle for those now! I am also glad I had the dealer install and the messed up on the install labor at .5 hrs not the correct 1.5hrs. Bought if for $40 and paid $40 to get it on the bike.

The center stand is just one part of the center stand kit. The kit includes all supporting hardware and gaskets (you drop headers to install.) There are some up there that have most of the required pieces, so people can easily piece-meal the rest together.

2 stand kits popped up for sale on eBay today, so I grabbed them. 3 active orders going, so first to ship wins!

Eh, we'll see if they actually ship. I'm so pessimistic about Honda dealers and parts right now haha

This was very helpful! I plan on contacting my dealer to see if they will "piece-meal" my kit together. Maybe they will, given the fact I've waited nearly 6 months for my kit to arrive!

I agree with you Bubba, but in fairness to the 8th gen base model it should be pointed out that NONE of its 3 major competitors come with a center stand either (Kawi Ninja 1000, Suzuki GSX S1000, Ducati "Supersport"). And from what I can gather, there is NO oem accessory centerstand even offered for them - so at least Honda has you covered there.

I was able to find an aftermarket one for the Suzuki but I couldn't find any for the Ninja or Supersport. According to a forum thread (see link below), no aftermarket versions are available for the Ninja 1000 because of the catalytic converter! And according to another forum thread (link below) it cautions against putting much weight on the Supersport's side stand too :D If it makes you feel better, at least your bike came with passenger grab rails for free - Ducati wants an extra $150 for them :D https://store.ducatiusa.com/p/ducat...s/accessories_supersport_supersport-all?pp=20

Just thought I should point this out - LOL

Does Honda have us covered? I thought I knew what I was buying - a base model that could be accessorized.

LOL - you got me there - I suppose I should have said "had", not "has" :D Hopefully one will turn up for you - it's great having a centerstand.
