Am finally riding my street bikes again. After sorting a used 600 c.c. bike for my Brother he flew to Edmonton from Ladysmith. We then took the long way two Vancouver. We left on Wednesday morning, and went to Golden BC, where we stayed for the night. The next day we rode down to Shelter Bay and took the free ferry across to Galena Bay, we then rode over to Kaslo BC. That is where we spent the night the next morning we rode back to Nakusp, before going over to Vernon, after that we went up to Cache Creek. That's where we spent the night. Today, we went towards Whistler BC. I ended up turning around 15 kilometers outside of Pemberton. There was a bad accident and the road was blocked off. After waiting for 30 minutes I decided to turn around and start heading back as the road was free of traffic in the other direction. There had not been any traffic in that direction for at least one and a half hours. That made for a Heavenly ride, as the road is very twisty, as well as being in good shape. It is very nice to be on a VFR, especially a 30 year old one! I'm surprised at how good the suspension is. It won't put Ohlins out of business, but is well behaved, none the less. Even my 25 year old Metzeler's are doing great. ME33/ME55A Metronic combo. The weather is great, roads are great and is cool to tour with my Brother. My only complaint is the SPEED LAWS in B.C.! (Don't ask me how I know!) Draconian, to be nice about it. So far, the VFR has been frickin' great. The loud pipes are sinfully good sounding at high and low revs. Pretty cool. I even pulled an old pair of soft saddlebags out of the closet for the trip. I've discovered that they're so old that the foam inside is falling apart and making a mess. Wouldn't have it any other way. With the Corbin seat on, I'm even comfortable. All in all, a good ride, so far. P_20170825_210626.jpg P_20170825_210626.jpg P_20170825_210547.jpg

My last day's ride was a long and rewarding one. Left Cache Creek, B.C. at 10:30 a.m., after a good breakfast. Decided to take Hwy. 5 up to Jasper Ab., then Hwy. 16 home. AFter stopping at the Husky in Kamloops, I saw two riders fly by on a Goldwing and another bike. Decided to give chase. How hard could it be to catch two touring bikes? I was on an Interceptor! Well, it turns out it took many high speed miles to Intercept these boys! I kept going faster and faster, unable to close the gap on them. Luckily, most of the way was divided. Not too many high speed passes. I've said it before, I'm still not mature enough for a Sport Bike! I caught the Guy on the BMW K1600 GT, but could never get to the Goldwing. When they pulled off of the highway, I decided to talk with them, wondering what had been done to the Goldwing to make it so fast. I was humbled to learn "Nothing, it's Stock"!!! He then went on to tell me how he felt slow, that the Guy on the BMW was the faster of them two. We had lunch together and continued up to Little Fort, where they turned off, while I continued straight through. Was for the best, as these boys had no fear! I had to flog the poor 700 at high r.p.m.'s to stay in touch! I like to go above the speed limit, but not 60 or 70 k.m.'s above it! The rest of the trip was fairly uneventful, with another ticket almost received at the junction of Hwy. 16 & Hwy. 5. At the 70 km/h zone, I had begun slowing, luckily, when an rcmp dude passed me from the other direction, he flipped on his lights and sirens. I thought I was busted. I then slowed to 30 km/h, waiting for him to turn around. He never came back!!! Woo Hoo! I then drove very slowly for a few km's! The "old" VFR700F2 did very well on its first tour with me. I covered about 2700 k.m.'s in 5 days. The last day I did the most, at about 900 k.m.'s. Good for myself. The 27 year old Corbin Seat was a wonderful addition, as well. The 25 or so, year old Metzeler's were awesome still! If stored properly, I still trust them. The sound out of my "Supertrapp" 4 into 2 system was magic. Sounding great at low and high speeds. A little loud, but great.
I now wouldn't have any reservations about taking that bike anywhere, anytime. Will need to give her some loving, with fresh oil, filter, coolant, etc. She certainly showed me lots of love on this trip! DSCN1374.JPG DSCN1382.JPG DSCN1395.JPG ...o.k., this is it, for now! I always chuckle seeing this "lake" on the East side of Jasper. It looks like a massive, beautiful, deep lake. In fact, it is only a few inches deep. You wouldn't know it, unless you went in. Then on the other side of the road, there are Cliffs that people jump from into a very deep "lake". Cartoonish!

Glenn!! Sooo in love with reading this, knowing exactly where you are talking about, having been to some of those places!!

But more so excited you've hope back on and my fever has woken yours again!

If I lived up there, I'd ride the area constantly. Since I can't, you'll have to do it for me.

Just make sure you go that 30 kph the ENTIRE time so you stay safe and alive. That RCMP close call was lucky!

Love the photo of moto "hiding" in the brush.

So, where are you off to next?
Ole San Fran? I can't wait to see!

Nice photos, I especially like the one with the moon next to the mountain peak.
    Keep up the good work.

Thanks for reading my posts. Next ride? Hmmm...

This poor bug was destined to a life of entertaining motorists filling up in Clearwater B.C.. P_20170827_144816.jpg P_20170827_144808.jpg P_20170827_144801.jpg

A.M.- still gonna go through your neck of the woods. Hopefully, the Canadian dollar gains some strength, I'll be gone. I don't hold much hope, as your President can't seem to do any wrong, right now, so the Markets respond with a strong dollar. ( hee hee)
