I will be replacing fluids (coolant and oil) as well as putting in an OEM filter. I have a 2007 VFR800A.

Can someone who knows, please confirm that I did find the right stuff?

    Coolant
    Oil
    Oil Filter

    Thanks in advance!

So aside from missing the tool, do all the products look correct? I went on RonAyers.com, but couldn't track down the filter with filter tool. That is good to know. If anyone has a part number for that or knows where I could get that combo for cheap, I would be grateful for that info.

Wowser! $15 for a quart of coolant! Do yourself a favor and go to O'Reilly's and pick up a gallon of undiluted anti-freeze. Make
sure it is silicate free and you can get a gallon for less than what that quart costs. Make sure you dilute the anti-freeze with distilled water, not tap water.

That tool you linked to isn't for removing the oil filter even though it indicates that it is. You can get a simple filter wrench while
you're at the auto parts store. I used to have the list of filters that will work with the VFR and you can get one and the wrench to
fit it. Somebody should come along with the list of oil filters that will fit.

You can just go to the Honda dealer. Half the cost of that is shipping. They're $7 or so.

Even so, $7 for a quart of coolant that's 50% water, when you can buy a gallon of undiluted for about $13.

Yeah, I was definitely NOT going to buy the one I posted, I found it elsewhere for $7ish...I mainly just wanted to confirm that I have all the right stuff. I assume I do since no one has said any different. I actually thought I was doing myself a favor by going OEM on the coolant after reading the equivalent of a small book of suggestions on this coolant followed by someone saying "no, that sucks", followed by recipes of up to 3 different products mixed together and then warning upon warning of use premix, don't use premix, get this color not that color and make sure it doesn't contain this or that or the other thing and if you mess up you will get unusually high temps, etc. I figured Honda knew what their own bikes needed.

Thanks for helping me realize that I didn't have the correct oil filter wrench. Maybe someone could shoot me a link to the right one.

    Hi,
Go to the auto parts store and buy a filter off this list...... - I have used the Purolator One and both the Bosch 3300 and 3323.
    About 2.5 inches long.
    • Purolator One PL14612, about $6.
    • Mobil M1-108, about $12.
       Made by Champion.
    • Bosch 3300, about $6.
       Made by Champion.
    • Wal-Mart SuperTech ST6607
       Made by Champion.

    About 3.25 inches long.
    • Purolator One PL14610, about $6.
    • Purolator Boss PBL14610.
    • Royal Purple 10-2808.
    • Mobil 1 M1-110, about $10.
       Made by Champion.
    • Mobil M1MC-134
    • Bosch 3323, about $6.
       Made By Champion.
    • WalMart SuperTech ST7317,
       about $2. Made by Champion.
    - Then while I dont want to get into an oil debate... Grab either 4 quarts of Mobile 1 MX4t 10w- 40 motorcycle oil or get the Shell Rotella 5w-40 oil.
There may be some motorcycle based alternates available at the auto parts store. Your choice, but I am a long time Mobil 1 MX4t guy.

Also while your there, you can find a oil filter wrench.

Then, my taste, but go to a Honda car dealer and buy the Type II coolant... nickname Honda blue. I lasts longer and keeps systems cleaner. (IMHO) I have done this for decades.
    - There I saved you some time and bucks......skip the online stuff.

Good luck. Oil changes are cake.

Yeah, that is the stuff I use. Sure a little more bucks, but at a change of once in 4 years, so what?
    - Another tidbit, and again my personal taste, there is some stuff called Water Wetter I use on changes every time - 4 ounces to a gallon. It helps keeps temps down.

What is the downside to using the 3.25 inch long ones instead of the 2.5 inch ones? How long is Honda's OEM filter? So out of all three of those, did you have a favorite or did they all work equally well?

You add 4 ounces to a gallon of premix or a gallon of undiluted coolant?

The one thing that is missing IMO, is the crush washers for the oil drain bolt and coolant drain bolts. All the other stuff is personal preference. There will be many who say just reuse the crush washers and that's OK too but I usually grab new ones just to be thorough.

Hi - Its 4 ounces to a premix gallon. --- So 4 ounces to a gallon of fully mixed coolant. If you were going to the undiluted plus distilled water route, mix up a gallon, then add 4 ounces. Its on the bottle of the water wetter.

I just spent $20+ a couple days ago on crush washers at Partzilla.com (had to order that many to get the price down to $1 a washer) so I am covered on those for life. Please tell me it is the same size crush washer for the coolant drain bolt......

The coolant drain bolt is a different size than the oil drain bolt. The latter is 12mm the coolant ones are 5mm or 6mm.

Be wary of when you unscrew that coolant drain bolt as the coolant shoots straight out and may make a mess. I usually have the drain pan angled so I catch it, or use a large funnel at an angle. Also, be sure to bleed all of the air out of it as well. As was stated, new crush washers are best, but in all of my years owning VFRs, I have always reused the original and never had a leak. Maybe I'm just lucky? YMMV.

Nah not lucky, I've never bought a crush washer for the drain plug on any bike I've ever owned.
