Just scored a neglected 86 VFR700f with repainted, repaired body, non-running, complete bike. Took her home about a week ago. Then, I got it started but not smoothly idling without choke. Now, that it's started, I'll likely start disassembling it down to the frame and motor to clean her up before reassembly. I'll go thru the carbs and hunt for good panels. The tank needs rinsing. But I'm in the middle of finishing up a Hawk, so this bike will have to wait before I spend any real time or money on her. I hope to have it ready by next July though. Nothing crazy planned other than updated front end (600f2) and an 600f3 rear wheel. Better rear shock is also planned.

    Thanks for the welcome!

It will be a keeper. I've been looking & researching VFR. I like the looks of the 3rd gen the best. This 2nd gen is my next choice. I'll take my time & hoping to finish it by next summer. I have a Hawk GT that will be my main rider but it's still in the build process. The VFR will be my long range road missile. I'm one to mod it though. So it won't be a restoration. For sure, it will still be RWB. I'll be puttting on f2 front end and wheels. Sorry, the white triple spokes are not for me. But I'm glad you like my bike!
