Hello everyone i am new here to the site but not forum sites. So here is my problem and i hope someone can possibly tell me what the isuue might be. Bought the bike a few months ago and it had no problems starting at all it had an idle issue where the revs would bounces all over so i thought it needed a carb clean. So after pulling the carbs realize that they were actually pretty clean, when a buddy and my self started putting everything back togather we saw that boots of upside down on 2 of the carbs, not carb side boot up on the carb and also a couple gaskets upside down also i started to think that why it was revving out weird. But anyway got it all back together fuel line plugs wires all hooked back up were there suppose to be go to start the bike and nothing! I can hear the fuel pump turn on but the line going t the carbs is dry. Soni tank the tank off and saw that the petcock was clogged when i turned on the fuel nothing would come out initially thought that was the cause nope! Hooked it all back up again and still no fire? Checked all the lines for clogging and there clear. So then my buddy and i took a line off the fuel pump and n fuel was coming out the pump. Then we tested the voltage on it its knly reading about 10v is that too low for the bike to fire? Sorry i didnt keep this short but this has been a much longer process than i intended it to be

unless you marked them b4 disassembly, it's too easy to interchange the input/output lines to/from the pump, so maybe switch them over.

So before I took the gas tank off everything worked fine when I took off the tank it sat for a couple of weeks before it moved again, could something have clogged up the petcock? how do I get a flow of fuel to come out again?

Do you have the vacuum line hooked up to the correct spigot on the petcock? The one on back is vacuum. The one off the middle is just a weep hole to let you know when your diaphragm has failed.

They will not flow fuel without vacuum.

I believe we tried both spot since we couldn't remember which one we pulled it off of. we did test it on both and still no fuel came out. does that vacuum line connect to anything else or does it just hang there? But I will try it again tomorrow and report back here my bike is far away at a friends garage

    thanks for your comment!

Um... It needs to be connected to something that is creating a vacuum. One of the carb inlets on the head should have a spigot instead of a screw plug.

You can also suck on it like a straw (don't inhale or swallow fuel) with it connected to the back of the petcock and it should flow fuel.

I just told you... the spigot on the intake. See that philips screw in the intake of the head? One of the 4 locations (one for each cylinder) will have a tube instead of that screw and crush washer.

Send me a PM IF you want me to replace your O-rings, not an easy job. I'll do it for about 1/2 what a dealer would charge, and i have the rings in stock.

Well i had the black fuel tubes off and tried out some new ones from the hardware store. The old ones were tore up pretty bad from incorrect sizes. Gave it another shot hoping for the best and damn thing wouldnt start again! This is my first time ever working on somthing like this with the guidance of a friend but we only could know so much before we both hit a wall which we did after putting all back together again throttle cable, choke cable, fuel lines, vacuum line, etc.

If you can find one that will work on it. And know how to work on it.

Just send the carbs to Squirrel.

I have a spare engine the one that came with the bike when I bought it, but it has low compression on one of the cylinders. I want to sell it as whole what is a good asking price for it? btw its the original one that was in the bike
