I think the choice in colors is awesome......silver metallic or.....silver metallic.

Oh well, now I can get the suspension upgrades and Sargent seat for my 02 next year.

I was thinking I'd take the time to re-list all the "my *special* friend told me the VFR's Dead" or "The CBR1K is now the sport touring bike" or "The new bike is going to be".....

There is still the mid-year announcements and there will be new stuff. something will pop up, but nothing exciting did this week.

Agree, while still in morning for Hondas great opportunity lost with its "honed" out of a solid metal billet look think the Gen 6 VFR suits the darkish Metallic Silver.Athough also think it has room for some improvement and could benefit from some well thought out and subtle graphics added.

I don't think there is a problem with the color silver, what I do think is a problem is the lack any other available color choice. Sales and Marketing definately had no say in this, I'll assure you of that. Everybody is different, I, for me personally, think the white was an awesome color - reminded me of the Mugen Honda motocross bikes that got it all rolling for HRC in the 80's. Sorta like the RWB - retro, but unmistakably tastefull.

Must admit I agree with you on that point, even if not my first choice Honda should always have some form of a RED VFR on the books.

Back on Silver, I really, really love the Titanium Metallic Silver of vfrdiscussions Baileyrock's Gen 5. Ultra

    6th Generation ....FOREVER!!!!

no really, Honda's big surprise is that they will make the 6th gen VFR forever. It is the best all-around bike. <----(yep, that is a period)

(well, maybe next year Honda will add special stickers and raise the price due to the additional non-recurring engineering costs associated with the finite element modeling on where best to put the stickers to minimize the appear that the bike fell over at a camping site or something)

As a previous owner of an 02 F4i I can say that although we are not happy about the lack of changes.... The VFR is still a great bike to switch to. I decided to change over last year and this is the best bike I have ever owned..... It is comfortable and refined and it is still a sportbike, just a little more grown up. Don't drop the idea just because of the carryover. You would really be missing out on a great motorcycle.

I have an 02 F4i as well (only form of transportation) and was considering the VFR for a next bike... I liked the ABS and comfortable ergos, but not the power and portliness. Very hard to take a step down in the performance department on something new.

VFRspeed hit the nail on the head, if it ain't broke don't fix it, my thoughts and many others exactly.

I met up with a couple of guy yesterday, one of which was on a GSXR1000, he was wishing he had my VFR, be careful of what you wish for...........

I understand that some people want this bike to be a much harder edged than it is, but as someone else already stated, the VFR is a very competent sport bike. I thought that was well said and with just a little work, it is also a competent touring bike. It is a bike that is a compromise that suites my needs perfectly. I'd rather see continual refinements to the bike to make it better rather than drastic performance oriented changes - that is what the CBR line is for.
