The body was rusted beyond repair and the motor had become one solid boat anchor, all because in part, it was exposed to the weather and sitting directly on the ground for over 35 years.

OOTV do you remember how light that car was? I remember thinking that if I had a flat tire two friends could pick a corner and hold it long enough to change the tire without a jack. Never had to test that thought, but I do recall thinking it could be done.

If I recall, it was 6 to 8 of us, so couldn't have been too heavy, we were all teenagers at the time!

Obviously there are still a few gearheads who are not aware of the market madness for many vintages and marques of cars right now.
356's which amount to a vin plate attached to some rusty scrap sheet metal with nothing else at all can bring $35K. Insanity, I know, and I would not play that game as a buyer, ever. But as a seller, I'd ride the tide all the way to the mountains if I had the chance.
An uncommon car like the 600 will indeed bring ca$h way above the scrap value, if there is anything (and I mean anything!) at all to be salvaged. That "boat anchor" might have had a usable cylinder head, or the crankshaft which a restorer was dying to get.

After seeing this, yes I would want it. But, no one stated how fast it would go Top speed or 0-60. 1400lbs @ 110hp = 15.00 lbs per HP adding in a 200 lbs driver. Like Driving Pete said. If only the VFR 1200 engine was available at the time of the build. 170.31hp = 9.68 HP per pound adding the additional weight of the 1200 engine and 200lbs of driver weight. That is as close to an almost a perfect 7lbs per HP dry that super cars try to come to. This does not calculate the fuel and the fuel capacity that was not stated. Supposedly sold for $20,000 is F..king bargain! With 5.5 yrs into it I would have kept it unless I was married and it was her or it. Wait, it would depend on her and how many miles she had on herself! And again why I am not married just came up! DAMNIT!
