Replacing mirorros on the 8th gen ? Help, tricks , tools needed ?

I have scratched my right side mirrors and have not been able to find instructions to remove the old mirrors . Someone please tell me were there is a good link to this project and the 8th are not like any of the earlier versions.

SO in hopes of not breaking any other pierces if some fine person can show me the honda manual page on how to to a mirror swop.

While we're on the subject of mirrors, I've got to give a shout out to Honda and say that the mirrors on the 8th gen are awesome! They are vibration free and provide excellent rearward visibility (see vid below for example). In addition to being extremely functional (unlike Ducati mirrors which are useless) they look stylish and up to date with the integrated turn signals just like the best supersports (e.g., CBR1000RR, ZX-10R, Panigale, etc.). Good job Honda!

Well still a little confusing, as to what is inner visor etc, love to see a video before attempting.

 

The inner visor is the black plastic "hood" over the gauges that has the 2 screws. You have to separate it from the upper cowl, which is the black plastic behind the windscreen. It can be a real pain to separate those clips along the edge where the 2 parts are connected together. And the directions in the service manual don't help much when trying to figure out which part to push/pull in which direction to separate those tabs without breaking them. It's been a couple years since I took mine apart to change the windscreen, so I don't remember and can't provide the answer...sorry.

 

Blue tape indicates Inner Cowl to be removed, blue tape on left and right are the bolts.

Much thanks. Removing the windscreen and mirrors on my CTX was scary even after watching a video of procedure, You would swear parts were going to snap off. But after doing it once then it was much easier. Thanks for the help.

 

As with most of the panels on the 8th gen, they have locking tabs, don't force anything, just wiggle at different angles, you will get the hang of it.

 

Find the thread about replacing the screen. Pics and workshop diagrams are included in that thread. I cant see any of the attached pics.
