Well, that was an interesting bit of qualifying for MotoGP. Haven't seen a front one like this one in quite sometime.

^ what Ducky said , I'm usually not one for watching this, but have to say both 250 and 450 mains where pretty entertaining, that track lay out was brutal, I'd need a chiropractor.

    Moto Gp Jerez Spoiler********************************

Pedro looked like the Pedro of old, if he can get away at the front he can win. I was rooting for Zarco! JL back on the podium........

As usual Moto 3 was the best racing followed by Moto2. The Moto 3 kids are just crazy!

Were you able to check out qualifying? That was interesting to watch. Dani did an awesome job there too. Dare I say it?, Dani held a "master class" this weekend!

Zarco did an excellent job, passed all but one of the "Aliens"! Might be taking over Crutchlows position as top independent rider One of the commentators made a joke about how he's glad that Zarco heeded VR's warning to keep quiet  JL did a great job too, all things considered. This was part of what I was hinting to regarding qualifying. The front row was the real surprise though. I can't remember the last time the line up looked like that!

I pocketed a cool $375. Placed a $125 bet at the beginning of the season that Dani would nab a pole this year, another $125 for a race win, and an additional $125 for a win before Rossi won again. It was great to pick the pocket of a Rossi fan with a trifecta. Dani is still one of the quickest guys in MotoGP and it was good to see him win the 3000th race.

A trifecta in horse racing is picking all three places in a single race. Could be applied to any type racing with three or more competitors but with better odds than 1:1.

A question for our "cousins". Do Brit bookmakers make book on bike races?

Yep, how some go from 8th to 1st in just a couple of corners is insane! The pushing and shoving seems to be a common place too. I think Binder thought he was roughed up by Fenati based on his reaction but race direction, as well as the commentators, thought that the incident was clean.

What has to be frustrating for the riders though, is being able to be at the front almost the whole race and then get beat up at the end and get pushed off the podium but that is racing!

23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness has suffered a suspected broken leg in a crash while qualifying at the North West 200 event in Northern Ireland, race organisers have confirmed.

The 45-year-old came off his Honda Racing Fireblade CBR1000RR SP2 on the Primrose section of the course during the second superbike qualifying session, shortly after the finish line on the road course.

McGuinness was transported by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast by ambulance, where he was accompanied by his wife, Becky, with the Morecombe native reported to be conscious and alert following the accident.

A statement released by the North West 200 organisers read: “Honda Racing’s John McGuinness has crashed at Primrose corner during the Superbike practice session at the Vauxhall International North West 200 today.

“The 45 year old Morecambe rider, who is a six times winner at the event, has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by ambulance with a suspected broken leg.”

Thursday proved a tough day for the Honda Racing squad after Guy Martin suffered an accident in the morning’s superstock qualifying session. The returning Lincolnshireman went off at the Magherabouy chicane and clipped a barrier, and was shown a black flag at the Metropole when he attempted to continue as officials needed to check for any damage to his Fireblade.

“I sort of laid it on its side,” Martin told the BBC once he returned to the paddock after the session had finished. “I didn’t crash, but I let go of the handlebars and kind of laid it on its side, then they wouldn’t let me go. I got going again, there was nothing wrong with the bike, but they gave me a black flag at the Metropole so I sat and had a cup of tea.”

With McGuinness now a serious doubt for the Isle of Man TT next month and Martin well off the pace at the North West – Martin failed to break the top 20 in supersport qualifying and managed only 19th overall on his superbike – Honda face a big decision over whether to replace McGuinness with another rider.
