    :suspicious:
what I want to know is where BB gets all that dough-those old ladies usually don't pay trolls
I wonder why Honda didn't make after market headers for the VFR-they would sell a lot of them or at least have someone else make a set and then sell them to Honda to sell to vfr riders.:funky:

Because they are "for off road use only".

don't live in Nazi Ca, Donald is gutting the EPA-Ha Ha, I wouldn't bother the VFR is a sporty bike, if I wanted speed-I would have gotten something else-its just a good durable bike with a big gas tank, but I do hate those headers:boozer:

Will those compress a bit to seal?

    Nice work!

That's a fair question, I can see why you say that looking at the photo. But nope, they're soft brass.

Your camera read and exposed for the entire scene thus the color shift in the "Olympiad" pic.

Mmm, no, well sorta, I ran into a hic up. So much for buying before having it in hand, meaning all looked good at first, then a quick throw it up there showed me enough to call it good. But #@^$! after a buttoning up the rear, time to button up the front, I find the # 2 primary tweak so bad it's going to have to be cut , straighten, then put back some how. Now the plan is to do what I thought should be done with the new header, cut and make a slip joint with spring retainers like the rears. The only bump in the road is for this to happen smoothy, the bike needs to be in Gabes garage, Ha that ain't happening. Gabes gear isn't portable, so looks like a lot of driving time will be encountered.

This has always been the problem with non factory headers.
That's why I doubt your crush gaskets will work, rarely is a header dead flat to the ports.
Did you try loosening the whole thing and starting with the problem one first?
I find the rear last is easier.

Thanks for throwing that suggestion out^ I did that, every thing was set up lose then tighten this, then tighten that, one at a time, then the next one, figuring this would surely just sorta slip into place. Ahh No! I did notice the first time, I'd have to do a little, key word to self "little" prying the two up front apart, so I thought. In that first try I was just looking at what was what. the idea is to install the fronts very lose then work the rears. thing is it slips together quite nice, then once back to the fronts I see the #2 not lining up, i mean its' a cocked eyed twist, there's a good 2mm crack no way will the exhaust studs be able to take and twist those around. so I then went back to the #4 took it out as much as it could as the two are tied together back in the collector, so not much wiggle room to get the #2 lined up, and in that doesn't work what so ever. Seeing how the rears just fall into place you'd thing that would be the norm for the fronts as well. Akro has it that way on the RSV4 so.. WTH.

You never know, the doner bike might have had a hit that would make it worse.
No idea why they don't make them in 5 pieces, it would make things much easier.
You can always try to apply a bit of heat, over a length of the #2 and give it a twist.

Great minds think a like, just walk back in from checking the acetylene volume, then pondering if that's a good idea or not, being I'm under the bike and all ;) but was looking at where I might apply heat to get the best results from. This could be tricky. Yea I was thinking if the bike it came from was down at one time. This is just odd.

It could also be a case of "fools seldom differ"

Also noted, on a double check, dropped it out , then reinstalled #4 is spot on, so yea it's #2 that's all fubared. DSC02241.jpg This is what I dealing with. No it won't budge, it's that far off. No way the exhaust studs can work this into place without adding way to much stress, to much binding going on here. Bummer, so close, yet...

Throw it on a trailer, take it to the nearest good automotive exhaust shop, they'll have it squared away fast.
