Where are the pics of the new pretty lady Base?

 

OK, I know this is after the fact,however,If buying a used bike,I believe the gear drive gens. are the better bikes ,especially from the reliability standpoint.With a used bike,it is very hard to tell if its been properly maintained.Even with our best foot forward it's usually a crap shoot. eddie

Agreed, I was skeptical about my Staintune at first, but wow, I mean wow, what an exhaust note.

That is a nice looking bike base.

 

The best year is apparently the 07, Honda saved weight by not including a spanner wrench in my tool kit. :frusty:

 

The good news is with burn in time the Gen 6 Staintune sound just keeps getting better and better. :music:

 

Nice looking bike, I thought red,white and blue and then solid white were the only colors for the 07's so this is the first red one I have seen. Anyway I have heard so much talk about the Staintunes slip on mufflers, what is so damm amazing about them,maybe the are super special,so somebody clue me in.tks eddie

 

Also available in black btw as mine is an '07. In Europe it's black, red and silver, for you guys across the pond it's rwb, white, red and black if i'm not mistaken.

As to the Staintunes, easy to fit, sound excellent and as somebody already pointed out, the sound gets better and better. Should you feel the need to be quiet, just screw in the baffles for that legal sound. :wink:

 

And they never need re-packing.

To me the weight or 750 or 800 is not the biggest consern in which is best. What I wounder is which is the one you would say is the most comfortable to ride. Best rideing posission, not to sporty. And also which is best in 2 up rideing, to be ridden and for the one on the pillon.
I love my -87... but not its seat too much if the distanse islong...

I had a 94 VFR and the got 79k miles on it. I understand the V-techs run awful and I hate they ever got away from the gear driven cam.

 

I'd like to know where the VTEC's run awful lol, i'm on my second one and they're as smooth as silk.

 

I heard a guy who is a big VFR guy who has ridden alot of VFR's and he said the V-tech runs real bad.

 

Instead of listening to stuff like that, why not try and ride the bike instead? I've been riding VFR's for years and while i admit the 5th gens have smoother power delivery, there's nothing wrong with the VTEC's. My new one is lovely and smooth, sounds to me like your friends bike needs a service...

OK I'll bite, with such a broad ill-defined statment he's obviously rode a VTec with a mechanical problem, an irrationally biased dope or is this a case of " Bad " means " Good " and you just misunderstood the meaning ? :biggrin:

 

Hey, I like the 4th Gen VFRs a lot, but the 5th Gen bikes have fuel injection and that means less maintenance to me. I like the new VFR, but still have some issues with the VTEC engine. My main issue is if the Power Commander solves some of the abrupt VTEC engine issues then why doesn't Honda sell the bike with a Power Commander setup on the bike. Why do I have to buy a new bike and fix it before I can enjoy the bike. I have rode on a 2002 VTEC and it rode just fine, but I did not like it as much as I like my 5th Gen (probably just used to my bike). As far as the VTEC goes my only issues and questions are about the valve adjustment and the cost. I got help last week with my decision to check out the ST1300, and if the new VFR did not have the VTEC engine then I would get a new VFR. The VFR's VTEC engine is the main reason why I am checking out the ST1300. I am trying to keep my 2k 5th Gen VFR and work a deal on a used ST1300 (looking at a 2003).
