All things being, I'd like to see your buddy be able to go 4-500 or more miles, then get off. That and add most can't take what the duc offers. But then, some folks can even pull that off, so.. to each their own, BTW, that's a good set of photos, well done sir. It's this here I bet the reason the Super sport is coming. More folks are leaning towards street smart sport, which what the VFR is.

Thx RVFR, and you're right. I can't ride to the limits of my own bike - still working on getting rid of the chicken strips on my tires lol! We were supposed to swap when we got to where we were going but we were running a little late so we didn't get to after all. We work together so we'll get another chance later on...

Those 959s are awesome bikes. I've gone on a good ride on one. I LOVED it!

Great pics! Some suggestions to make your VFR look more sporty when parked next to your buddy's Ducati:

    1) Add a dark windscreen - I rode with VFR Dave this past weekend and he had a dark Puig and it made his white 8th gen significantly more sporty looking compared to mine.

    2) Take some pics of your VFR parked with your buddy's bike at his chiropractor's office, that might make you feel better - but at your buddy's expense :witless:

    3) You could also take some pics of your VFR parked next to his Ducati when his bike is up on a repair stand at the Ducati dealership - your VFR will suddenly look much more sporty :glee: According to Consumer Reports, Ducati's reliability is nearly 3 x worse than Honda. Nice pics. I think the VF'er still looks "sporty" considering what it parked next to.

They don't look that far apart really, however it's the rider that makes the machine!

Samuel, Where did you get those tank grip pads for you bike? I have been looking for some. Could take a tank shot so that I can see them better? Thanks.

    Hey Mike,

They are from R&G Racing. Please check this thread over at VFRD http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/85309-tank-grips-pads/#comment-1058474
Some of the other members also weigh in with their thoughts on the R&G and a few other brands of grip pads.

I forgot to update that thread but R&G did in fact send me a couple of other discard sheets. I ended up cutting circles from the narrow end of the tank panels that I originally purchased (making them a little shorter) and using the discard sheets to make a panel for the rear seat cowl (until I receive my tank bag, I've been strapping a back pack back there and wanted to add a little protection and grip to the top of the seat cowl).

Today was my first ride with the grip panels in place and I like them. I get a much better bite/grip when squeezing my knees/thighs - not much cushion though, so if you're looking for that, better to get something thicker. I'll try to take a close up pick a little later on this week...

Oh, almost forgot to mention, my buddy was real impressed with the Denali Sound Bomb! This has been mentioned before by other 8th gen owners and now I've experienced it too - the "geniuses" at Honda switched the locations of the horn and turn signal switches from previous gens and I keep hitting the horn button when I'm trying to manually cancel the turn signals (yes, I know it's got self-cancelling turn signals but man, I just don't trust it yet lol and muscle memory has me reaching and pushing with my thumb).

Another thing with the self-cancelling, I don't like when it cancels when I don't want it to - for example, if I'm changing multiple lanes one after another, I prefer to just leave my turn signal on the whole time. This bike shuts it off after the first lane change so I end up not signaling for the next one or more lane changes - annoying! Almost as annoying as the seat-belt reminder in our Odyssey, but not quite... lol Anyway, when I pulled up to meet my buddy, I went to manually cancel the turn signal (just turned into the parking lot) and ended up honking at him from about 5 feet away - made him jump a little... lol

Great analogy. You-we have an awesome machine that can muscle through anything that his does and beyond in distance and dual purpose. But, yours- ours costs less to own and maintain. It may not be as fast, but it is sexy in its own right and still turns heads! Due to lack of decals and labeling only on the tank I find people looking at mine and thinking maybe "What was that, a Ducati?" I think that I own only one of 4 sold in Utah (after talking to my dealer and being one of three in metro area that would carry the bike at the time ) and it get looks. One person that remembered the early versions said this at a stop light after looking for identifiers and found the Honda and Interceptor logo said! "Holy shit, I love your Interceptor - What CC? - What year is it? I thought that they stopped making them -How does it ride? I had on in the 80's. Sweet bike!"
