Bike was stolen on superbowl sunday from my apartments carport and recovered last thursday afternoon after the theives stripped it, spray painted it, then crashed it.

They cut all 4 ignition wires, grouped them together and simply installed a on and off switch. It was twisted together, heat shrunk, and taped with electrical tape.

Too bad police can't afford to identify the bike as stolen, then leave it and sit on it until the assholes come back then arrest them. Better yet, call the owner who can sit on it with friends and beat the fucking living shit out of the perps when they come back. More than the judicial system will do to these fucks. Glad you got it back but sorry it was damaged so much. Does your insurance cover the damage?

That's just what happened to my old RF900 that I sold in mint condition. Turned up a year later on our local auction site having been stolen, painted and crashed. Makes a man want a to cry. Hope you had insurance.

I don't ever want a bike or car back that's been stolen. I'd rather take the insurance money. Insurance usually pays more than true market value for totaled or stolen bikes. Same with cars is my experience. Ask me how I know. There needs to be an underground "payback" squad for scumbags that steal. How much lower can a cellular mass get?

I had to look for an extra 3 seconds at that "rigging" its pretty decent, scary shit. I feel your pain. Side bar, the cuban doode that owned his RF900, threw it into a canal and claimed the insurance money, he also did it with a gsxr1000 that was crashed on the race-track. Thats another dip-shit, glad I dont associate with him anymore. :peace:

Can't say I totally disagree with you but on the other hand in these politically correct times, and the police under such scrutiny I found it interesting that as an espoused police officer you have the guts to put forward this viewpoint . Especially seeing as you are in BC, the bastion of politically correct policing.

We still have free speech up here. :biggrin-new: Prove who's fingers actually touched the keyboard. Police would look at that as petty property crime and then look away. Glad it was recovered, but I would take the insurance money (I sincerely hope it was insured!).

I didn't have comprehensive. It was already salvaged as a lady tipped it over two years ago. I paid 3900 for it back in 2008 with 15k miles on it. I put an additional 50k miles on it and got a check for 4100 from Esurance.

I spoke to the Detective, and he had a suspect, however there was no way to tie him to my bike as it was crashed and left at the scene of the crash. No witnesses, yet it was crashed during commute on a busy road. The suspect stole another bike, and got caught by El Segundo Police a couple days after my bike was recovered.

They rattle canned it black, took a whole bunch of parts off, and wrecked it. I installed a new battery, new brake levers, and took a ride around my block and realized that the front suspension is fucked and twisted. Going to try and sell it or maybe part it out in the future :(

Really sorry to hear. Makes beating the living shit out of the thief and then breaking both his legs and all his fingers all the more appealing. These are not my fingers on this keyboard.

Thanks for the sentiment Duccmann, BUT it wasn't my bike, it was Jorbar1551's bike. I was expressing my feelings about the piece of ratshit that stole HIS bike.

    Cheers,
    Glenn

I like your style Randy, but even what you say is too soft on these mongrels, I'd go for the death penalty, but no that isn't allowed, lock them up and the taxpayer keeps footing the bill, just a no win situation for honest people

I've been talking to the Detective that is filing the case, and one of the guys admitted to stealing a truck near my area on Superbowl Sunday which is when my bike was stolen. They haven't admitted to stealing my bike.

Despite being meth heads that hop around place to place, both assholes were able to post bond.

This is the guy that just got caught. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100009164154799&fref=ts
