I can't find anything that shows the specs on the lengths fully compressed without oil/springs/caps. The compressed lengths without those installed might not matter as it isn't like you ever have those all out on the bike, just seems concerning to me being a worrywart.

I did however find info on the FROK TUBE :p

I murdered the work printer with section 14, will mark it all up as i pull it 100% apart and redo the job to make sure i didn't mess up somewhere.

    GASP!

Off the computer for a while due to commitments, travel for work, etc...
Not something I expected to see when coming back to the forum.

Very glad that you did not sustain the same level of injury as the VFR!
And happy to read that you plan a rebuild for sometime in the future.

In the meantime, this is a lesson for everyone reading about your incident:
    1. Sometimes SH*T happens...
    2. ATGATT is the ONLY way to ride.

Those marks on your helmet are proof that a good one is worth every penny. Anyone who places any value on his or her brain will spend the money, and WEAR it!

According to the service manual, the suspension should have 140mm of travel. I wonder do you have the oil lock piece installed in the right leg the right way up? If not it would stop the right leg compressing all the way.

I had to move things back into place (as best I could) in order to get the head lift stand into the steering column. Essentially the springs and rebound adjusters are keeping the forks together.

Supposed to be 46 Saturday, but there's a ton of salt on the roads.
Salty roads and new tires isn't going to work......

Wise thinking. In about a month, daylight savings time will be here along with warmer weather and I'll be headed to the Smoky's for a few days riding in some of the best places on earth. I say that going into a warm but wet weekend. Darn.

    U.S. 2, near Brevort.

North Shore of Lake Michigan's snow/ice dunes.

Could use some of that cold snow around here on the weekend! Saturday forecast is 42 and Sunday 44 deg C, that's 111.2 degrees fahrenheit. No ride this weekend...

It's the San Jacinto Mountain range. On the other side is Palm Springs and the Aerial Tramway. It was 81 in Hemet and up at Lake Hemet, 4300 ft above sea level, was a cooler 71 degrees. I actually had the chance to ride two of my bikes. Here is the other one, my 85 Nighthawk. Background is the same mountain.
