You are not wrong. I'm an immigrant and when I went to Canada House in the UK over 40 years ago to apply to come to Canada the official processing me quite frankly tried to talk me out of applying. She basically told me the streets weren't paved with gold and things weren't as good as I might think. That was in the days when you basically had to have an offer of employment in your hand before you could apply. I did. I had visited Canada and I knew she was full of BS. That was during the Pierre Trudeau dynasty and they were wanting minorities to apply knowing they would vote for the party who allowed them entry, so they could bring their families here. Much as Justin the drama teacher is doing now with Muslims.

A friend who is not a minority came to Canada 10 years ago from the UK. From what he tells me they also tried to talk him out of coming. I'm in agreement with you. We want immigrants who want to come here and work, and adjust to our country. It's farcical the way the leftist Liberals think that a country should adjust to immigrants who want to change our way of life. I've travelled and lived in a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, and there is no way that they would allow this crap to happen there!

Finally, when I came to Canada I was employed in the same work, and my pay was twice what I earned in the UK plus the standard of living was considerably better. L know why people come from the third world. To them the streets are paved with gold, and all they have to do is ask!

I think you will find that Trump does indeed know the differences between them. Its just he is willing to try and 'adjust it' to a different model. And lets be fair, a 'different model is required.
Personally, I think Trump will be aweful for the rest of the world - at least until they figure out how to deal with him, but America is another different world. Good Luck with the Journey.

Actually I used a different old Chinese saying along the lines of " may you be doomed to live in interesting times ", under Trump I feel we'll be seeing a lot of interesting times especially if he makes it full term.
