Looks like something is wrong with the readout on my new VFR 800 gen8.
Can anybody here see what the problem is?

Is it normal to have 30 to 40F degree temp swings in Perth?

Yep. The air temp sensor is a little bit out.

It was only a mild 38 degree's today, though it's usually a bit hotter under my patio roof, patio thermometer was reading 40 degrees when I took the pic.

I'll have to see what VFR says the air temp is when it gets really hot!

What does "40F degree" mean?

Had your engine been running recently before the pic? I find that if I'm sitting with the engine running the outside temp will sometimes read higher than what it really is - so maybe some of the engine heat is having an impact on the outside temp sensor? Once I get moving again it seems to go back to a more accurate reading.
