Are you thinking of The Spy Who Loved Me with the ski jump off the mountain? I would put Roger Moore in 2nd place behind Connery - he was Bond in all the 007 movies I watched as a kid at the theater.

That is the exact clip I was thinking of. No shit!

I'm going with Gator on Craig. Even a couple of Connery's Bonds were kind of silly. The question now is who will be the next Bond?

This presents me with a dilemma. Lots of harleydoods with the handle "Mad Dog" How many gators are in Florida do ya think?

    Old joke:

Two stoners on a pier in Florida fishing. One says "Dude, a gator just bit my leg off." The other says, "Dude, which one?" (dude is a popular form of address elsewhere too) First dude says, "Well Dude, if you seen one gator you seen em all."

There has been talk about Tom Hardy or Tom Hiddleston being asked to do the Bond films.

Hardy has played some pretty decent roles (Max in the last Mad Max movie) and is even doing a mini-series on the FX channel called 'Taboo', which is pretty dark!. Hiddleston did a mini-series called 'The Night Manager' which did show him as a spy type character and he also played 'Loki' in the 'Thor' movies. Personally I think both could pull off being Bond not sure which one would make a better Bond.

Before Craig there was a lot of talk about Clive Owen being Bond. I think he could have easily pulled it off, especially after seeing him in Sin City.

How bout Kanye West or Devine?

Whoops, Devine has left the building. Arnie? Chuck Norris? Rosie O'Donnel?

Agreed, besides the best Connery, I really think Graig is one of the best out of the bunch
Hardy I think would be great, just watched Taboo last night (first two) he's a great actor but still on the fence with this new show

Think we got sidetracked just a tad here.

Thanks for the laughs--so much of this rings true. My wife is Italian (from Bologna, actually), so I've spent as much of the last 20 years in Italy as I could (which, sadly, isn't really that much). But it is "different country" for sure. Charming. Frustrating. Beautiful. Neglected. WLF...

    Ciao,

LOL - there are probably at least a million gators in Fla :glee: I would rank Craig 3rd behind Connery and Moore. Craig and his stunt double did a good job riding the bike in this scene:

Maybe Cruise could pull off a shot at being Bond once. They could dub in one of the Brit actors or just say fuck it and tell us Bond was really an American all the time.

Craig's Bond was true blue. Connery's Bonds' were full of pussy galore.

Now I'm wondering if y'all have read the original novels by Ian Fleming? I was always glad Fleming wrote the novels instead of Steven King. If that were to happen the movies would have been ten hours long.

For all the crazy, it is an intoxicating place. The people are so friendly -- at least once you're away from the tourist traps. Even in the north, which my coworkers (the engineer from Napoli, the driver from Sicily) swore was nowhere near as Italian as Italy can get, it's a very different lifestyle. And they make the best of what's thrown at them.

My last driver was a motorcycle guy and we spent an evening marking out all the good roads we'd discovered as he had just sold his F4i and was getting an R6. He had family in Torino, so he had an excuse to head north again and explore.

Those roads headed down to Ventimiglia... I'd LOVE to have a go at them on a bike. Holy crap was it beautiful there, and they were nice and smooth roads. Other places were potholed messes, but we had so much fun going through the coastal alps that we'd forget ourselves and the poor guy in the chase car (a 40hp Diesel Lancia Musa) couldn't keep up.

8 months later, after a month each working in London and Frankfurt, only having been home for 3 days in the previous 3 months, I was in a hotel in Mexico with the flu. I started feeling a little homesick -- for Italy. That shit gets under your skin.

Martin Short would be a great Bond. The way the 007 franchise is going, Alan Thick might be just as good.

Henry Cavill actually auditioned for Bond back in 05 but even though they liked him thought he was to young. But now........ I could see it.

I think we can all be grateful that a motorcycle chase is included in many of the recent action films. From Bourne to Bond, from Cruise to Fast and Retarded, at least Hollywood is working our genre into the plot-free chase-scene sequences that are termed 'movies' these days. The intricacy of the staging, stunts, and editing leave me wondering "I know it's impossible, but how the heck did they even stage that stunt??"

Lint - ice racers use tire warmers...they just have to get out on the grid before their tires cool down.

Many of those scenes are done by spending many pesos ;) One thing to take notice of on the bike scenes is that of late the bikes don't all sound like Harleys. Thankee Jesus!

Are those ice race tire warmers made out of Kevlar?
