I don't see how it humanly possible to go that fast with your leg power alone. Crazy.

She was towed up to about 90 mph, then let go. Stayed within vortex created by the Rover and was pulled by the draft. Had to be extremely careful not to run into back of car! Still, she was on her own. Might have gone faster, but the flats were reduced from 5 to 4 miles. Rained the night before the last day, so that was their record.

My main point was to show Cat2Rider you don't need a modded out 5th gen to go that fast!!

The scary stuff is not so much in the LSR area using drafting (Kamm Effect) given that the riders are in super shape, but that downhill stuff I would pass on.... I wiped out on a bike going maybe 60 once. Totaled a Schwinn Paramount. There's a hill in San Pedro, CA that nailed me and the bike. West 28th..X Gaffey & Peck. The area is part of the Palo Verde Peninsula..

Of particular note, Guy Martin is almost full ATGATT.

I couldn't either. But looking at that video of the British guy, you could see where the chain from the largest gear on the front, went to a smaller gear just behind the front. That small gear was attached once again to a large gear where a chain then went to the rear wheel. That kind of gear multiplying is tremendous. I would think that it would be a bitch getting that thing rolling though. Also, there would be considerable draft behind that truck he was following, How much of a difference that actually makes I have no idea, but it would be an advantage. Nothing I could not do....if I were in someone else's body and in the middle of a futuristic dream.

Quite a feat by all of them. Fastest I have been on a pedal bike would be about 80KMH. coasting down a long hill on HWY #1 just east of Salmon Arm BC. That was a rush. I took one hand off the bar for whatever reason but did not take long to grab hold again. immediately the front started to wobble a bit and I damned near shit. Did that four days in a row while camping there. Rode up that same hill after each ride.(about 1 1/2 miles at about a 7% grade). That was one hell of a grueling ride up but I was a little younger then and probably in a bit better shape. I think that was around 1993 or 1994. So would only have been about 38 or 39 years old at that time.

I never gave that any thought. I guess she would have had to have something other than bicycle tires. Roadies or mountain bike tires would surely heat up and explode very quickly at those speeds.
