I think she has to go straight through to Wichita for work tomorrow ... she missed in-service today I think.

 

Oh shit that's crazy! I just assumed AM was camping there again since she camped there the first night. I think if moto gets sick with bad chain it should make her eligible for a couple sick days.

 

Sadly, I don't think the school board is that understanding down there.

Hopefully there understanding about her situation--- she'll roll in around 5 or so--- it's the black ice that worries me

Black ice on roads is scary shit. We used to get that a lot out here on the west coast where there is a tremendous amount of moisture in the air. It is extremely hard to see. But for the past 8 - 10 years, they have been applying a salt brine on dry roads here in the winter when the temps get near the freezing point and the skies are clear. That stops black ice in its tracks. Also wind will stop black ice. Frost will not develop in windy conditions. Fortunately, I have never experienced black ice on two wheels. Have a few times on two feet albeit temporarily, or in a car.

Hit black ice in ten wheeler in UT, had a full load of gravel--- needless ta say your just a passenger and let go of that dam steering wheel.

Fixed it for ya there vs, they're.. Yea black ice is deadly. she was hoping she could be there by 2am wow!!!!! Still smh I wouldn't push it. but being young as she is who knows, Here's a prayer she makes it safe and sound.

 

So what's the story on the chain? Do they suffer accelerated wear near the end of their service life?

I've ridden in cold (years ago), but never in the teens, I don't think!

Praying for a safe landing, home soon.

And, that your class takes it easy on you for a couple of days!

 

Just checked in with AM and she's in good spirits and a couple of hours away from home. Yeah!! That girl has grit.

Missing inservice training will probably benefit her kindergartners. Inservice training is constructed mostly by administration personnel who rarely if ever spend any time in a classroom.
