Very nice work there, they look like they belong on the bike. What diameter pipe did you use; is it bigger than a stock 8th gen?

Haha ! jibbling your pants eh?
primaries are 35mm Id which then go into 55 Id at about 500mm length.
tried to keep front and rear systems identical but had to sacrifice a little length on the rear cylinders for aesthetics.

well the verdict is after first range ride, allot more mid range!. allot.
traction control is incredibly invasive and doesn't recover quick enough.
only the very odd decel pop so either the factory ecu shuts injectors off at 0 throttle or I have no exhaust leaks ;)

To me that big boost in midrange doesnt make sense considering that the bike was originally designed for low/ mid range riding, but thats where I am feeling the biggest difference in response.

How are people finding the autotune ?
I just came back expecting alllot of positive increases in fuel when viewing the trim tables but found only allot of minuses from 5 to 15% all around 2-5 k in the 10-40% throttle region.
the O2 sensor is well enough away from the exhaust (700mm) to not be concerned about reversion at those revs.
    doesnt feel right to me..

I like the look of the system. Looks like a ton of man hours spent. Blood sweat and tears. Wish i could do that to my Gen6 love the sound and would love the weight loss too.

    Good job.

Figure out a way to mass produce and you would prob sell a ton of them.

    Eye Class-A drugs, more like!

Why did you decide to link those cylinders rather than use the OEM configuration?

    Ciao,

I just reported you for posting porn, JK but do you mind sharing the specs of this exhaust? What diameter primaries and secondaries did you use? How long are the primaries? Did you get close to equal length? Did you reuse the factory flanges? All around awesome job and work. It definitely suits the bike very well. I love seeing stuff that isnt your typical ebay bolt on parts. Glad to see cool stuff happening to the eighth gens already :) I hope to see some dyno results or fuel tuning in the future. Definitely look into Rapid Bike.

LOL, that would explain it. Did Honda change the firing order, or just the pipes?

OMG - that idle sound is killer(blub blub blub blub) and the quick rev sound give me goosebumps... gotta be one of the top sounding viffers out there.

So bad ass looking , the angled cones cut and tig-ed look very professional , I paid around $500 for a partially hand coned pipe and silencer setup for a single cylinder 2 stroke and was thrilled to have it in raw steel which I keep lightly oiled for rust protection , of course it does show heat bluing which IMHO is exactly what gives a hand coned pipe it's charm.

Here is some samples of custom pipes made by Rich Daly of DynoPort a well respected 2 stroke pipe builder. These are no frills raw or black pipes. Ceramic and various other coatings as well as more detailed coning are available.

my semi custom pipe was functional and problem free, and actually looked quite nice.
Your work looks cleaner and definitely much prettier. I assure you the welds on your pipe are plenty adequate for any show pipe, and we'll beyond what's needed for a functional leak free pipe.

Awesome job if I could turn out work like that I would make some jigs for consistency and do custom work. You gotta figure an EBay X-pipe setup which looks mundane in comparison and is said by some to produce losses not gains in power sells for $1,000.
A pipe/ silencer set like you have created has to be much more valuable, particularly to those with the means .

Maybe, I am way off here and no dollar amount would make it worth the obvious tons of time that went into your creation

Now this really get s me fired up. I tell ya notably this is not only a work of art and passion, but a very functional piece. My only concern is as great as a sound it is, I'd be a wee bet concerned with long term riding. Still very nice.

thanks for all the compliments gents

ive done a few km (maybe 150) on her now, and in all honesty the most annoying sound is the airbox coming into full swing when vtec kicks in. would I knock up some baffles one day to calm her down, definately. especially if say I decided to ride the odd 2000km to phillip island for motogp.
the note from the exhaust is deep and boomy down through the gears, and im thinking because of the way the exhaust is (4 into 2) that is makes the bike sound slightly more like a vtr then a vfr

its great to see the excitement on here! I showed a few fellas at work and they were like " so , did you weld that bit?" , I dont think they had the same affection for bikes or understanding of the effort that went in as you all do.

I only say what I did because I've put myself in spots like this only to find out long term it wasn't so great. I agree the 2 2-1s was a smart move, no doubt plays a part in the ring tone. Good job, I'll be passing this along to my fabricator if you don't mind.

yeah the girl is a toy for me. I spend my days in utes so a weekend toy is fine fir me.

    oh - quicksifters!
Im keeping the stock gear shifter and fabbing up my own quickshifter.
should i bang the input into the honda OEM circuitry or put it into the power commander ?
