The Honda Corporation's 5th Gen VFR does not need any help from OP, just look at the satisfaction level and statistics of the machines and their long term owners. The 5th Gen VFR is in a league of its own

I think cat just hit his million post, on at least three different forums, that we know of, with vague wild claims of statics and numbers, without actually proving any real data.

Cat has now stated, in a million different variations of words and sentence structures, that he just doesn't know how to replace a cct.

Inline 4 or not, for $3.5k you can't beat it in stock form that travels well beyond the capability of your VFR no matter how much you spend on your VFR.

Money better spent just get another faster bike than trying to mod your VFR to do something that it's not designed to do or meant to do.

Don't forget to count the moving chain links with the moving parts

If I were to entertain an inline 4 it might be a Blackbird, especially the 2016, but it cost too much right now

you would really consider every link of a chain as a individual moving part? wow that is special. talking about pulling numbers out of ones ass to get the results your looking for.

That would be the "equivalent" 2017 CBR1000 but you'll be overpaying

No amount of money you can spend to find a 2016 model of Blackbird.

Seems to me that you have you mind set on modify a 15-16 year old VFR doing something that it is not designed or meant to do from the factory; which surely reduce its reliability.

When money can be better spent by buying a 14 year old Blackbird that was designed and meant to out perform the VFR, from factory form.

Spend all the money on your VFR to make it go fast.. still it is not meant to be fast... nor will it go fast for any significant amount of time if you don't have the skills to ride it fast.
Money is better off spent on a faster vehicle that's meant to go fast in stock form or track time that allow you to utilize any bike's stock performance to its limits.

Moding a bike is fun to do when you can't ride it.
But once you're on the bike, no amount of mod is going to make it go faster beyond your skills.

2017 CBR1000 vs Blackbird.. not even close to same bike.

the blackbird is nothing like a cbr1000rr, in modern bikes it would be like saying a zx10r is the same as the ninja 1000 or a zx14 just cuz they green don't make them the same.
the 1100xx is more like the busa or the zx14, yea I know it is smaller than those but it is more like them than a 1000rr

Except nobody is spending "all their money to make a 5th Gen VFR go fast", it's already plenty fast. The best mods are just to enhance what already exists and balance out the overall capabilities. Pretty simple to, seat, suspension, fuel map, it's not a big deal
