Nah, I've cleared 170 as indicated by GPS, NASA, and NORAD. I custom fitted an old GL1000 windjammer kit

My 5th Gen VFR with Mods listed is clocking a GPS speed of 144 mph when shifting into 6th gear, I'm estimating it will not redline in 6th gear but will see max speed at 10,800 rpm or (102 hp) about 150 mph

Fill 'em with helium. Less unsprung weight.

My 4 your old neice got a pedal trike for Christmas. She would most likely beat you over a quarter mile on it.
Never happen though, you are not allowed to stay up as late as her.

Looks like I was "right on the money" with my 150 mph @ 10,500 except you'll need a pretty good stretch of open "clear" road with no traffic. This is your best post, your like Cam Newton now, you blew the season, so now you're only as good as your last win, very nice

I'm thinking the Actual GPS Speed is the "real deal" and I don't think the Dyno dollars buy much with a 5th Gen VFR because in the end "you're just gonna get what you're gonna get" there is no magic, but to get even that, its gotta be setup up "right"

Would you do think about installing a TTS Performance Supercharger on a 2008 R1 ?

My $3.5k 2003 CBR1100XX does 162 according to GPS, zero mod.. stock gearing.. could have gone even faster if conditions allowed.

The 5th Gen VFR's are just fine with no restrictions and a few tweaks, it's the last bike that needs any Dyno tuning, I would not trust just anybody or expect it would much except burn bucks you could have spent on new tires. Also there always seem to be RC51's popping up and I notice the owners are difficult and overprice (higher than KBB) reserves and they end up not selling. I'm not too crazy about RC51 overall but might consider the right one at the right price

That's an inline 4 not the same type of motorcycle as a 5th Gen VFR V4, the inline 4's all exist because of peak performance numbers and that relation to manufacturer sales to stay in business. Even BMW had to rollover and produce an inline 4, but in the end, peak numbers, don't necessarily make a better motorcycle in the long run. The 5th Gen VFR is very special in this respect, it can hang in there with most anything and outlast anything

Sales is all about numbers and the marketing folks mostly end up determining just what actually makes it to consumer production, that's why there are so many variations of the same thing. When engineering and design decide what gets produced then you get highly developed Moto GP race bikes that cost over a million bucks each, that's just how it works.

The 5th Gen VFR was a very special bike because it has significantly less moving parts due to gear driven cams and it turn it needs much less valve adjustments whereas the VTech with its multitude of moving chain links to wear out in turn incur much more valve services at the dealer, which is exactly what the dealers wanted, but most VTech people will not have open ears to these facts

Yes I agree when you own an excellent 5th Gen VFR your perspective on importance of peak performance shifts from speed to overall satisfaction, something only 5th Gen owner will continue to appreciate for many many years

Continues to back out of his previous "inline fours offer increased peak performance numbers" argument.
