This was what a lad ended up with after an off wearing cheap gloves.

Yuck - it almost looks like they grafted a big piece of butt cheek onto the back of his hand!

:whiteflag: Alright guys - I'll never go gloveless again after seeing that pic :tranquillity:

That is exactly what it is. He basically removed all the flesh on the back of his hand.

Note to self: buy some better gloves! I think my gloves are probably the cheapest pair that A* makes but they matched my old green Ninja so I had to have them :glee: Any suggestions on what to get?

I just bought some Icons. They fit me like a glove should fit, and are super comfortable. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/icon-hypersport-pro-long-gloves Well vented, too, they didn't feel too hot for normal weather like you have.

If the local place had Held gauntlets in my size I might have tried them. They were comfortable and looked well built, too. Get what fits best and is REALLY well made. You want something you wear every day to be comfortable.

I had a pair of Astar like the ones you show. Had. Briefly. When I got them I has horrified at the shit quality. I thought maybe I was wrong because A* used to be a "good" brand and was stupid and wore them instead of sending them back and the mesh tore after 3 rides...

Lessons learned. First, don't buy short gloves. They should well cover the sleeves of my jacket. The A* shorties were NOT more comfortable just less protective.

Second, Alpinestars is overpriced. And doesn't fit me well.

Third, gloves last me a LONG time. $50 extra is worth it.

I've been down on cheap gloves. Better than nothing, but tore up my palms a little and got hot enough to cause burns. That, plus the busted thumb (from slapping th etank) made for a couple of very uncomfortable months.

My knee got burned, too, but my leathers never tore through and protected me nicely. The difference between good and not good enough protective gear.

Wow those look like nice gloves MM - which color did you get? My main complaint with my A* is they leave the underside of my wrist exposed - I have long fingers so even with the XXL size they leave that area unprotected.

I just got the black ones. I really give no shits about fashion other than my helmet, about which I'm surprisingly picky. Anyway, my jacket is the grey and black thing that was on sale and had good armor. Nothing Icon goes with anything else I wear, so I decided it's like T Shirts. Black goes with everything.

I can't guarantee these are good for long fingers. I have average fingers. And, for as barrel chested a man as I am, I have little girlie hands. But I will say that I wear a Medium in these and they are perfect for me.

I wear an XL in Alpinestars, my fingers go to the end and even after wearing them around the house for a night and three trips on the bike the fingers are very still tight at the base. I just pulled one on to remember the fit and they did NOT break in to be comfortable in that time, so they're MUCH smaller than Icon sizes. I'm wearing a pair of Olympic touring gloves daily that I've had for years and they are also Medium, tight but much more comfortable than the A*.

That's why I went locally and just tried on all the gloves. Every brand. They all seem to have their own shapes and I made notes of which ones were comfortable, which sizes fit in each brand, etc. I liked the scorpions, but the fingers were too long, I liked the Held, but the size that fit me they didn't have a gauntlet, and the gauntlet they did was $385, etc... You should do the same. Just take a ride to a motorcycle store as an excuse to get the bike out and try every glove they have.

I ended up with the icon because the price was good, that kangaroo palm is about the most durable smooth leather there is, and they fit me perfectly. Still had to order to get the gauntlet as my local store seemed to have almost nothing in stock but short gloves, but my current touring gloves are fine until they arrive.
