Maybe this an example of living in this post-fact era the fake news has been rambling about where truth doesn't matter, only wild conjecture and asinine theories.

    OR...

sow,Knight, and an 8-ball of crank fell down a flight of stairs and the resulting amalgamation dropped OP out its chocolate starfish onto VFRW's doorstep for a X-Mas miracle

    either way, happy holidays! :snowman:

Yet we all know you are a troll.
Sad that you persist, but still, it's a troll's life eh?

It's a fantastic 5th Gen setup "right" to run the distance or a fine daily driver, what's nice is the perfect balance of power and handling, it's silky smooth and sounds incredible

OP, if you just wanted to go faster you didn't need all those snake oil mods you've done.

A few hours before a ride you want to mix a cocktail of magnesium citrate and metamucil. The pros swear by it for that extra millisecond edge. Rossi is rumored to toast himself with a "just what the doctor ordered" before taking it.

That's actually based in scientific fact. Power to weight is the key

Sad to say that unless the filter is chronically blocked, or the pump is dead, this won't make any difference to performance. The fuel flow is controlled by the injector timing in conjunction with fuel pressure, and that is maintained by the fuel pressure regulator. I'd get injectors cleaned and matched before spending money on the pump or filter. Still, your money, so your choice.

It's about $100- in new parts, it's running better with a full tank, that's an indicator of fuel filter needing replacing sunder the fuel filter is upstream from (before) the regulator and most likely never been replaced, if the carbon pump looks good will go ahead and swap it out then close it all back up and not worry about it for another 15 years

I would not even touch the fuel regulator, its fine

For fucks sake already, who's trolling who?

As long as the guy keeps his bull shit in his own thread then who's the troll?

If anyone doesn't like what the guy has to say, go to the top of the this page and select thread tools. From the drop down, pick unsubscribe. If you don't agree with people, wouldn't it be easier to walk away as opposed to throwing insults and trying to force people to agree with you?

Come on Tink don't be a spoilsport. Some people just need some extra curricular fun activities to strengthen the mind and improve jocularity. This may be their only opportunity during the day to do so. Now for some milk and trollhouse cookies to make my day........

You've done a lot of things to your bike, so unless you got some kind of objective measurements along the way, it is impossible to know what performance gain/loss each mod might have been responsible for.

I don't know how DynoJet develops its maps, but looking at their website, Power Commander maps for the VFR800FiW-X (1998-99) appear to include maps for both "European model" and "Full Power European model". Guess which one your ECU is from...

Do you really want me to speculate as to why you think everything you have done to your bike has been fantastic? There is probably a simple explanation.

    Ciao,

I really have not done that much and what I did was done incrementally very slowly over period of months. What's happening now is I am beta testing the various ECU's and fuel maps. The best combination has been been the ECU G and the Euro M108-703. This is matches my current configuration the best and the bike runs very good, so good I need to replace the fuel filter because it's running better with the tank fuel. Whilst I have that all opened up I may also install a new made in Japan carbon fuel pump, maybe have not decided. This VFR is pulling right through all the gears and I've had it up to a GPS Speed of 144 in 6th gear which is a 155 mph on the speedo and there was still more there but I ran out of clear open road, I expect it to do better now with a new fuel filter and the Pipercross

Since I work as a database programmer and an application developer, I am also able to open the fuel map files and become familiar with the coding. This is the actual fuel map file looks like opened up, I can compare the various files between the fuel map file and after it's loaded in the power Commander application, it's not that difficult to understand compared to what I usually have to do
