Vid of my VFR800 at "Tail of the Gator"

Here's parts of what I did yesterday on a 4 hour ride - I just came up with the Tail of the Gator name cuz I'm jealous of you guys in SoCal and the Smokies with your Dragons and Snakes :beguiled:

So glad to warm you up AM - it was kind of chilly that morning (for Fla) but the sun was out so it felt great! One day soon we should ride each others' curves and compare notes afterwards nthego:

 

Nice video Greg, makes me long for the days of 50 degrees. They're long gone for now, until about late February or early March. If I sit the iPad (or better yet, the 46 inch TV) in front of the bike, start it up, and stare at the screen, it's almost like BEING THERE.

Hmmmmm, off to the garage............ now where is that extension cord and my heated vest..................

Hey AM, remember Westside Road, the one you took to Vernon after leaving my place this summer?? Somehow I think Greg might enjoy that one. Not the Tail of the Dragon as far as curves go, but it certainly does have some entertaining curves and elevation changes.

If it only we had no snow and ice on the ground, I'd pull the bike out and go for a short rip. Currently, I have my doubts that I would make it down the driveway safely. LOL

 

Thanks ZoomZoom! You've given me a great idea - I need to watch my vid on my tv with surround sound and subwoofer cranked up - that should sound awesome - I can't wait! I looked up your location on a map to see where that road is you mentioned - I've never been up there but I bet it's got beautiful scenery compared to Florida - unless you consider scantily clad women on a beach to be good scenery - LOL

I had a feeling you might be sitting on some secret curves up there in KS AM :witless: Yeah the forecast here for Xmas day in Orlando is HOT - lower 80's - so I may have to bust out the reindeer antlers and go for a ride - LOL

 

Gator tails arent't really that curvy and are relatively short and stubby so I thought it was the perfect tongue-in-cheek name to give this area - LOL - but hey I think it SOUNDS cool to say I've taken on the Tail of the Gator and survived - in fact maybe I should make up a sticker similar to the ones I've seen for Tail of the Dragon conquerors layful:

 

This video makes me sad for you FLA members.

A friend of mine moved out to FLA from CA about a year ago, and he comes back to CA every once in awhile just to ride with us.

 

I thought we didn't have many curves in Ontario, but compared to Florida it is oh so curvaceous. You poor people.

Don't feel too bad us Floridians Jim - I'm squeezing in a little ride right now before Xmas dinner - check out the temp in this pic! I won't even mention what I'm wearing or I'll get called a squid again - LOL

 

Nice but no gloves? First think to go is the hands.

I was thinking the same. Having blown through a leather glove in a low speed off, I can only imagine what my hands would've looked like without them.

 

Thanks for the concern about my hands everyone. I usually wear gloves but this was my first opportunity to really test out the heated grips in quasi-cold weather so I wanted to ride "au naturel" to experiment with the different settings - the only other vid I can recall going gloveless in was my "Reindeerceptor" vid where I needed bare hands to facilitate throwing candy to people at low speeds - LOL. But again, I do genuinely appreciate your concern.
