So real people riding real and actual stock bikes on a test track (not a vast length of straightaway) and releasing the data for publication isn't substantial enough? That's ok, I get it, denial is a hard river to swim.

That's the "paid fantasy" to sell bikes, now go out there and get real life GPS Speed numbers

That's the Honda marketing group's "paid fantasy" to sell bikes, so I can assure you those are "indicated speeds" from those "paid jouralist" because if they don't publish the highest numbers possible, they don't get invited back for future "reviews" now go out there and get real life GPS Speed numbers because that's the difference between indicated and actual GPS speed. But you must get not ever be ready to to get your own "first-hand factual" numbers, which BTW is the "core value" of this thread, but that's fine, I totally understand, it's much easier to just read it and then take a mental position, that's fine

He might have been banned, or just quickly learned that mindless rambling isn't tolerated on that site, after his first worthless thread was locked.

The facts of the matter is the 5th Gen VFR "Best Mod$" are fairly simple and relatively "Actually Avaliable and Obtainable" and you don't even need to go to a shop, so the money you save on labor can be put towards the best parts. The folks that want you to think otherwise will attempt to smear this thread, but that's fine and understadable. The purpose of this thread is just about what it takes to have a great 5th Gen VFR

The 5th Gen VFR is a very consistent production motorcycle and with a few minor mods will run it's very best (filter,PC3,free-flow exhaust) it's just not worth it trying to get anymore power, you will greatly overspend for very slight results, plus it already goes plenty fast

Exactly! So instead of trying to get more power, we should try to get less!!

I spent about 6 hours removing the restrictions and installing the PC3, air filter and the free flowing exhaust, that's all that really needs to be done or "effectively shared in a forum discussion " there are a few other little things that can be done but it's just not worth discussing

"There are a few other things that can be done to make this bike slower, like putting in an extra snorkel on the air box and a low power 1999 German ECU"

I own 1 3rd gen, and 2 6 gens, I have rode a 4th and 5th gen a great deal, I will take 6 gen any and every day. don't know why the 5th gen is thought to be the best. hell the 3rd and 4th gen have about the same hp numbers and weigh less, me personally I like the extra bulk of the 6 gen I tour more than I sprint so the extra size is better for that for me.
just think about it the 5 gen was made for 4 years, where as the 6 gen was 7 years state side and what 12 years in other places, come on Honda knew what was the better bike

Honda definitely knew what was the bike that would pass emissions standards for a very very long time lol.

The 5th Gen needs the restrictions removed to run its "best", its favored because of the gear driven cams adds a great deal of long term durability

I don't consider changing ccts what? every 50000 miles a big deal, there is a 6 gen local that has 100000 miles on stock ccts, 100% bone stock bike. can your 5 gen say that?
