Hello from sunny California!

Hello world,

My name's Randy and I purchased my first vfr ever this past April. Its a 1996 4th gen 750. Before straddling this lover, I rode a 1984 GPz900 Kawa Ninja, but I started my street days on a 2004 Yamaha TW200.

We've had our battles. I laid it down back in June. My own fault. The rear brake had been locking up on the slightest tap. I knew the pads needed to be replaced and definitely the system bleed, but I was lazy. Long story short, I was going too fast into a turn and locked the rear wheel and went sliding into my demise. Lowsided on the right side of the bike going into a left hand turn.

Destroyed the right side pretty bad, still sourcing the cowls. Still looking for them if you got them! Broke a handle bar, driver peg, brake light switch, right control, r/r module. I've been restoring it since and riding it daily.

My most recent upgrades are a 520 conversion with superlite sprockets and did50 erv3 race series chain (stock sizes, as if you needed else to wheelie one in 3rd even with my fatass), Dunlop roadsmart ii tires, and hid lighting (if you haven't did it, do it, easy installion, bbbbeeaauyiful view).

I hate ( just envious as all get out) California just for this reason, Blah!!! That said welcome to the great world of VFR owners. Awe.. you have a great one there in the 4th gen, fix it up and the smiles in return are way worth the effort. But, I have to say it, where are the photos!?

 

@lint - I live in the AV, rosamond, just past palmdale. Work in la county, montclair though. I roll through Ventura county though every now and then if I don't take Angeles crest hwy.

Rosamond! Willow Springs is in your back yard. Haven't been the track there in quite some time but it's on my list to do a track day there again sometime soon.

No offense, AM, but I'd be mighty pissed if you clicked your slippers and summoned me to Kansas this time of year. I've been riding most every day, even if just to grab lunch or for a trip down to the beach after work. Midwest has just been... cold.

 

Its winter. It'll rain tomorrow and Saturday. I mean, it'll be 70 and sunny next week, but we get a couple of days of winter now and again.

 

That be a great wish being how flat and straight Kansas is, making it curving with hills would really be a good thing huh.
