The U. S. market ought to be picking up the slack in a year or two. People spend money when they're confident. The paid protestors should have a nice bankroll too. They need to be put in federal prison to protest all they want so their money might not count. Yes, "retard" is politically correct. Does anyone really care besides the liberal freaks?

"Harley and the Davidsons", the short for the series is being advertised on TV. The woman says, "what's it like", he says, "like an explosion between your legs". LOL
So, riding a Harley is like sitting on one great big long fart! Snort LOL

My first bike was a 2006 VFR800 ABS. The engine went bad (thanks to the failure of the local Honda dealership). I needed a bike urgently and everyone else was getting Harleys. I now own two 2014 VFR800s (one F and the other D).

Yeah when I see "engine went bad" I want to know too. Probably just the dealer forgetting to put oil in then hitting the rev limiter upon start up.

I have a confession to make. I was a high school kid back in the 70s and I actually wanted a Harley SX250. I had a friend with one. He rode it to school and I thought is was very cool. In the far recesses of my brain I still like it but don't tell anyone.

OK, so I went from Montgomery, AL to Los Angeles, CA on my VFR800. Been a lot of places on my baby. So I took it to the local Honda dealer to work on it and they dropped it off the lift. This did some damage that wasn't seen. They fixed the body of it, but didn't check the spark plugs. Later I started hearing some knocking and took it to them again to check, but they said they could find a problem. As I was riding home from work, the spark plug broke out partly in my engine, but I was able to ride home. I took it to Honda and all of a sudden they were able to find the problem. I sold the bike to a friend and they got an engine for it. A week later I bought a Harley Street Glide Special that I kept for two weeks. I sold and bought the new 2014 VFR800.

Don't feel bad, you didn't really want to own a Harley. Harley just rebadged the Aermacchi bikes and imported them as Harley's. So you're still good.

Some dealers do or don't do whatever they can get away with. It would be interesting to see how this LA Dealership is rated by customers and former customers.

Holy shizzz...what a crazy thing to have happened. And that they didn't go over it with a fine-tooth comb afterwards is doubly shizzy. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for the nightmare and crappy care you and your moto received.

Glad to hear you eventually went back to one of the best overall machines out there.

I am suspect that dropping the bike off the lift would have damaged the plugs. What type of work were they doing original before the aerial drop?

Anyone else hate liars? Like Big Jim above said, this is suspect. Only thing for sure is your bike was forked up by a sub-human liar apparently.

I think I would like to live in a world with just friendly dogs. At least they're honest.

I think hating with a broad brush is a much bigger problem than any Harley will ever be. All Harley's aren't loud, all of them aren't slow and all of the owners aren't arrogant. That said, they should make a much better motorcycle.

^^^^^^Well, you got one out of three correct, all Harley owners aren't arrogant, some of them can't even spell it. :playful:
