David Silver Spares in the UK. https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk

I could not find the cover stateside, so I took advantage of the US/British Pound conversion rate after Brexit and ordered it. No tax - shipping was $60. I also ordered the inner Hondaline duffle bags at the same time.

    1 INDOOR CYCLE COVER (P/N 08P34MCW800) £101.28
    1 PANNIER COVER SET (P/N 08P34MCW800A) £14.47
    1 TOP BOX COVER (P/N 08P34MCW800B) £11.67

The cover fits perfectly, and it has room for my Givi Tank Bag, too. It also has zippers to allow the luggage rack and the side stays, if so equipped, to be exposed to allow the side bags and trunk to be mounted with the cover on. Since I have the saddlebags & trunk, I also ordered the covers for those, as well.

Kinda. More to prevent ice from forming "around" the wipers. it also makes brushing the snow off the windshield easier. If you don't get all the snow away, then the heat from the inside of your car transfers to the outside and melts the snow which ices up on the wiper blades while you are driving. Then your vision gets all fucked up because the wipers don't make consistent contact with the windshield. Like driving in the rain with a bunch of twigs or straw under the blades. If you can avoid it, when it is snowing, don't use your defrost so the snow will just blow off the windshield when driving instead of melting and icing up the blades.

That is a subjective question. This depends here in Canada you live. Its a huge country with different climates. Where I live, the snow removal budget is with the city on city streets and province on the highways. Our city budget for snow removal here is probably only a couple million if that. They do a mediocre job at snow removal on the major arteries, lousy job on the feeder streets and we are lucky if they clear the residential roads at all. More effort is put into salting the roads than snow removal because snow is not a big issue here most the time.

Now take Winnipeg, Montreal or Toronto and their snow removal budget will be 10's of millions. I know when I lived in Winnipeg, they could have a major storm that shut down the city. They would keep the major arteries open through the storm as well as most the feeders. Within three or four days they would have plowed every street including residential. Within a week, they had all the major ad feeders totally cleared and most of the snow which had been plowed to the side, hauled away and dumped somewhere. I don' know if Winnipeg is still cleared that well.

Where I live now, if you are going on certain highways law requires you to carry chains or cables and use as directed. Those are highways and not city streets. There are only a few highways this applied to and the law is justified. I have a set of cable chains for my truck that I have had for several years now. They have never been used. I stay off those highways when the weather is that bad. But when I was a LEO, I had to drive in that shit so had used chains on my Suburban many times.

I often wondered how much effort goes into clearing road in those climates, due to the cost, it would be massive if everywhere would be equally serviced.

Don't you guys up in Canada have to run studded winter tires.
? Thought I heard that once. In Vermont not required to run winter tires but if you don't, just don't cause a accident that way.

Move her from one side of the garage to the other. Prepped the dirt bike for a ride that right after everyone cancelled because of snow.

I am not aware of any province where studded tires are required. I do know that studded tires must be removed by a certain time and cannot go back on until a certain time. They do great damage even to concrete roads. Studded tires are really good on hard packed snow and less so on ice but in deep just plain snow, they make no difference. Where I live, a good quality (in other words expensive) winter tire with a soft compound and good tread pattern is the way to go. Carry chains or cable chains to put on if needed.

Also, studded tires do reduce your traction on bare pavement as compared to non studded tires.

And, there was no snow, and warm air. It's the things I sacrifice for my fellow riders. The struggle is real.

I saw that so immediately sent it to all my former co-workers who are now going to be watching for you around each and every fucking corner you turn. Been nice knowing ya. See. If there was snow where you live, you probably would not have gone for that ride and taken that picture. Living in snowy climates has its advantages. You just need to discover them and use your imagination.
