Yes, with exactly 800 miles on the odometer, the new steed took a tumble on some somewhat shaky ground and an even shakier deployment of the side stand!

Went riding this weekend out in southeastern Ohio and stopped for the night to camp at Burr Oak State Park. Stopped the bike, put the sidestand down, but didn't do the one thing I (almost) always do - check to make sure the sidestand is all the way out! DOH!

I had even mentioned to my riding buddy that I needed to put some WD40 or spray graphite on the sidestand to get it to swing out more easily - it sometimes wouldn't swing all the way open with a normal nudge of the foot.

Regardless, there's some nice scratches on the new BLUE hard saddlebags and a small scratch in the white on the fairing.

Looking under the seat I see:
    Color NH-341P
    Code NH341H

I did a bit of searching and the only NH341 I come across is a shade of white that does not look like the white on the VFR.

Does anyone know what the "official" color codes are for the red, white, and blue colors?

    Thanks!
    alow

Honda dealers can get you the paint, you have the white and blue paint codes. The red is a decal stripe - hence just the two codes. The "Honda" and "Interceptor" are also decals.

Sorry to here you popped the cherry on the RWB, but now you won't be quite so upset when something falls on it in the garage etc...

Ahh - Ok so those are the colors then - odd they labeled them differently.

Anyway, I can find the white, but not the blue online, guess I'll jsut order some touch up paint from the dealer.

I'll probably cover most of the blue scratches with stickers anyway (I tend to sticker up my saddlebags anyway).

The white scratch isn't bad - but you can see a few specs of black plastic so when it's covered you'll never know unless you're looking right at it...

I can't imagine the blue streak I'd cuss if I'd done that. Thanks for posting. I'll go straight home and lube my side stand. I always use a piece of plastic under my stand so it won't sink, but never had a stand not go all the way down. You think warranty? You know, faulty sidestand:biggrin: yeah, that's it!!

I could try that - the sidestand does stick.

I don't think I could in good concious do that though. I've got enough miles under my belt (~50-60k) and I should know better than to check when I deploy the sidestand - especially when I know its a bit "sticky".

I am a bit annoyed that I haven't received a call back from the dealership yet - they told me they needed to "do a bit of research" and would call me back. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out paint codes and touch up paint part numbers.

Like I originally mentioned - stickers may be my best solution - haha

Sorry to hear about your bike. You are taking it better than me! Every time I put the kick stand down I'll be reminded about your post.
    Good Luck on the repairs.

Your posting this may save hundreds, if not thousands, of dropped bikes. I was kinda joking when I said "warranty". I don't think they'd cover that, but why not try? I have a small white sticker from the Dragon. If it'll cover up a scratch I'd send it to you. It is a 3" X 1" cut out of a dragon.

    Hey Eddie,

Thanks for the offer! My group of "friends" I ride with would give me hell if I put a Dragon sticker on my bike prior to actually riding it on said bike! They're a bit goofy that way - haha

We take 2 trips a year down to Gatlinburg (a friend of ours owns a B+B near the space needle). We usually go ride the Dragon once or so while we're down there. May actually skip it this time due to all the LEO issues and such I've been reading about!

Just do like my dad always said when he finds scratches on a vehicle/bike... "I take a few steps back and the scratches are hardly noticeable, and then I take another few steps back and I can't see them at all!"

I'm kinda funny that way too. I waited until my new RWB had made the trip before it recieved it's decal. But, after the "oops" thought a good Dragon sticker would make your bike feel better.

When I was at the Dragon the other day, my RWB couldn't decide if it wanted a red, white or blue dragon sticker, so the keep the bike happy, I bought one of each. Tried the blue first, the shade of blue kinda clashed with the blue on the bike, so peeled it off. Then tried the red, bike loved it. This left me with a white, which I was willing to donate to alowishus as part of my new "Scratch Removal System".
My new scratch removal system can remove those unsightly scratches, chips or dings, found on most bikes which are ridden regularly. This system can be yours for only $19.95 plus $199.99 shipping and handling. I offered this service to alowishus free to use his bike as a model bike which he can show to fellow riders, and they too can see first hand the effectiveness of this "Scratch Removal System" To order this AMAZING system for yourself Call 1-800-555-9999 or write to

NH-341 could be multi code for all three colors.
Once I painted ´87 model and used Crysler GTS Viper blue, Honda R-81 (red) and plain white. It worked fine.

I actually bought a used VFR with a Dragon sticker on it. I thought about peeling it off until I had a chance to take her down (didn't like the sticker anyway). Never got to take that one down.

Where in Southern Ohio were you? If you're not far, the parts dept here in Ashland, KY is really good about getting stuff fast, and they always give me a great discount. Could try and get ya hooked up with a good deal if you're ever down this way.

    Hey Jerry,

I'm out by Kings Island (NE of Cincinnati). I got my bike from Honda of Fairfield (by Jungle Jim's). Good place so far. The guy I got my bike from, Brent, was a friend from the now defunct BMW of Tristate shop (I used to ride a BMW K1200GT).

I'm not at all surprised Honda of Fairfield never got back to me regarding touch up paint. I'll call them back tomorrow or so and bug them again.

Ashland's not too far from me though - let me know if you'd like to go riding sometime, more than happy to meet up with some folks!

My aunt just bought a house near King's Island. I was up there a few months ago, and we could see the air show from her back yard. I grew up in that area and remeber going to Jungle Jim's all the time. We'd head over to what used to be the Forest Fair Mall usually afterwards.

There are a lot of fun roads to ride down here, and I usually have a handful of friends up for a good ride. In fact we just went yesterday. Anyhow, I'm usually up for a ride when I'm not at work or school. A lot of the locals have a route that they ride every Sunday that takes a few hours. Plenty of curves and nice views.
