    I see others have had this problem but I could not find if it was truly the water pump needing to be replaced or just seals;

    I have a 2002 VFR and have a slight coolant drip at the bottom of my water pump, bike always has run cool so the pump is working, can I fix this by replacing all the seals/O-rings or do i need a new water pump period? Thanks for any info:)

    I replied on the other thread you posted in but long story short, I replaced the water pump because the individual gasket was on back order and I didn't want to wait for it to come in.

    But if I was able to get all the seals/gaskets I could fix this without replacing the whole pump? Or is there any internal seals in the pump that I can't replace without replacing the whole pump? Thanks a lot!

    Make sure its not just trickling from higher up. The hose clamps should all be tightened a little every few years.

    Based on the parts fiche, looks like a simple gasket is all that seals the two halves of the pump.

    Cool, wondering if I can get that middle gasket from Honda, anybody replaced that gasket before? I've never taken out a water pump from a VFR so don't know how the pump is put together…:)

    Based upon my '86/'87 VFR experience, i'd say the pumps are NOT rebuildable, but i hope i'm wrong. :disturbed: Seems the impeller can't be pressed off its shaft to access the seals.

    For my 4th gen, there's an O ring that goes around the male end of the pump, and a gasket, rubber, between the pump and propeller cover. Both were readily available for me on bikebandit.com for about 14$
