Please dyno it already. Unless your butt is computer calibrated, a ride doesn't prove much. I'm glad you're happy, but we need hard numbers.

You may be on to something... if you were the head of marketing at Delkavic this would be the perfect way to sabotage your competition!

The Delkevic system is 100% manufactured and fabricated in China and has 4 additional clamped connection to further increase the profit margin by reducing the fabrication welding labor manhour and size of the shipping box. The sales strategy included providing a Dyno report. But with all these cold joint sealed mechanical connections , the sealing compound will eventually fail and the system will leak much sooner than an all welded system. The best practice is to have all welded hand fitted connections like Black Widow

Black widow has 2 of these "cold joint sealed mechanical connections" made with clamps. Delkivic has four, but the main difference is delkivics connections are spring loaded while black widows are clamps... Anyone who has owned a vfr for a long time and used the two different sealing methods can tell you how much better springs are than clamps.

The Black Widow is an exact (Stainless Steel) true equilvilent of the Honda OEM 08-01 VFR 800 header Downpipes (minus the catalytic converter 00-01). The two clamped joints not "spring loaded" nor would this be appropriate for these clamps are absolutely necessary to facilitate the installation and fit-up of the header pipes to the cylinder head exhaust ports. The particular location of these clamped joints are less prone to leakage because there only are a single inline vertical joint connection located behind the shield with minimal exposure to the elements. Whereas the location of the additional Delkevic spring-clamped joints are underneath the engine in an area with significantly increase exposure to corrosive effects of outdoor elements particularly moisture and dirt. The mechanical clamps in this location will degrade due to the intrusive nature of corrosion on the threads this resulting in a higher likihood of failure due to leakage promoted by the engine emiting high heat with consequential expansion and contraction. Black Widow has taken the necessary extra steps and expense to perform the final fit up and welding in their shop in the U.K. ensuring the header system will fit and not be prone to leakage due to unnecessary additional mechanical clamped joints. These are the simple facts of the matter.

There is an additional possibility that Delkevic also added the clamped joints in order to have the ability to interchange the sections of the header piping between 5th and 6th gen VFR's

These Akrapovic headers must be of lower quality than your team eBay race supplier "black widow" due to all their spring loaded slip fittings, especially at the bottom of the header...
