It's "under $17,000", but there's no Ohlins, Brembo, gold wheels, blue stripes or shiny frame for you - you'll have to pay $20k for the SP version to get that stuff :biggrin-new: And the ABS version only comes in Matte Black Metallic - why does Honda insist on being so damn stingy with their ABS color selections for the Fireblade in the USA?!?!?! At least they didn't do it to us on the 8th gen. But like the 8th gen, they put ugly amber marker lights in the mirrors - several of them! :disturbed:

I like Honda. But I don't care for the design of the cbr1000. I certainly don't care for the price and on that alone I wouldn't buy one. I demo rode the 2016 cbr1000 and I was quite frankly disappointed as it just didn't have the quality feel that I was expecting. I did like the cbr600, lovely suspension, great handling.

Meh, Triumph had that bodystyle back in the early 2000's.

I have a feeling that Suzuki is going to put a world of hurt on Honda with their new Gixxer 1K. I can't see Honda being able to stay competitive with what's available on the market already, especially with a price near $17K. I can get a BMW S1000RR for that money that will absolutely decimate the Honda in all regards. Street, track, (especially), comfort, electronics, options, etc. I honestly am getting a sore neck from shaking my head at Honda all the time.

I like my VFR, but I'm afraid I've given up on Honda and I just can't see myself buying anything they offer new. Sad really, they used to be someone, now, they just build motorcycles for those that are afraid to ride. Or they are absolutely delusional on what they offer.

BMW http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/89074/buyers-guide-specs/2016-bmw-s-1000-rr/ MSRP $15,999 for 2016 and it's already better than even the SP. Probably better than the unobtanium SP2 that requires significant engine work to extract the power, ie, new heads, pistons, etc. All part of the SP2 "Race Kit"... and other bikes are SUBSTANTIALLY less than that.

    Whatever Honda. Next?

Sorry Honda, but Ducati has already done this look too.

Just as when Chevy came out with the Avalanche and Honda tried to copy it, or Porsche built the Panamerica and Honda ripped them off too, I'm afraid the motorcycle division is stuck on me too as well. So, so very sad. Honda used to originate, now all they do is duplicate minus 25-30%.

There are a few rumors circulating that are suggesting the next Ducati superbike just might be a V4.......

I'll stick with Honda because everyone knows that parts, farkles and other stuff cost more than for BMWs and Ducatis.

Take all of those bikes shown, paint them flat black covering all logos, graphics, ect and put em in a row and at 30 ft, I doubt the similarities would be quite as distinguished.

Let bring back dustbin fairing so everyone can really be fast.

I heard it will be a supercharged 250. I wonder what they will call it?
