" mine is only an opinion based on observation over the years. There are plenty of others who swear by them."

Do you have some examples of those who swear by your opinions?

    OMWoomba! I have redacted..

It was his 1st ride of the year Billy, he simply lost concentration a bit, thought the car was going to move off onto the roundabout but it stopped.
Insurance covered the damage, switch gear came out of his own pocket.

Damn, finally an accurate commentary on BMW's. The more I think about it the more I want to go back to the multiple bike syndrome, LOL.

He was fortunate that the insurance took care of some of the damage. There was a major roundabout where I grew up that was unpredictable at times . Drove it or rode it twice a day for some time. My BMW is sort of an old timer. (1979) it fell over once on fresh asphalt.

Here there is one of those myths or at least the insurance outfits like to pull that if you strike another from the rear, it's your fault.. This mostly I think to lead the insured not to file a claim.

This includes sitting on one at a bike show and doing the lever pumping, throttle twisting, holding the mouth at the right angle and singing the Vroom-vroom boogie. Then finding oot that there ain't no guts in the engine or tranny.

    Not a Harley I hope! :)

    I'm tricurious now.

Had time to play this week with all things motos. Including these:

I can put muh big toesies down on the red/black with lowest seat setting. Swinging my leg over is hilarious. The tail is almost up to my chest.

But the price is so attractive. 10k less than a new Beemer 1200gs. Plus Honda. Plus the amazing reviews. It's just so dang big.

    Then there are these:

I was so confused ans still loving the idea of a Beemer. So I went to get some nuts and contemplate my new moto identification dilemma.

Smaller streetbikes are not generally big hits to the American shop till ya droop bike enthusiast. Who says size doesn't count..? LOL. Take a look VFRF's son who is a very tall dude astride his new Beemer. Got me a 500 thumper that is really too small for me in size, not in displacement.

Here's a compilation of the different Hondas by displacement and in many cases an implied corresponding size of the bike itself. Case in point: the 400cc VFR..

There are many instances of smaller bikes that never get to the US. This leads to a mistaken consensus that somehow smaller streetbikes are other than what they are.

You might want to check with rebs on the F800GT, as she just sold hers and got an 8th gen VFR...

Also, you might want to check out an 8th gen, now that they're so cheap. The seat is narrower than the 6th gen, and it can be moved down by almost an inch. It's also lighter and handles better than the 6th gen, and you can keep that lovely pearl white!

You know you want to, but Lynn says you have to buy your own white jacket.

I have a tentative riding date with a friend of mine in Colorado. The plan is to ride some back roads on smaller older dual sport bikes. I will take the wife with me so she can read books on the cabin porch while I ride off for adventure. I have my eye on a DR350. I will take the bike(s) in the truck.

As for smaller bikes, one of my all time favorite bike was my 500cc Honda Ascot. It was just so pleasant to ride. It only had a top speed of around 78mph (with my bulk on it) so I felt very exposed in modern traffic. I finally let it go. Bikes don't have to be big to be fun but bigger helps if you are going to put some miles on them.

This might be a time to upgrade the philosophy of ATGATT if there are a bunch of those dudes in your hood shooting blanks.

Not too many of the "Gromettes" in my hood.

    Go Coogs and Owls..

She claims to be 5'2 also, but I'm not so sure lol.
Try and get a seat on the 8th with the seat in the lower position.
