The Norton name over the years has been folded, spindled, mutilated, knocked about, trashed, had the shit kicked out of it and otherwise ruined by several parties including a bunch of assholes who determined that the Wankel engined racebikes were not of the proper size to race. This after they kicked some serious ass with the rotary engines.

IMO what "Norton" really needs is a John Bloor to step in and run the show.

(Honorary member of the Norton Club Seattle WA)

This new one looks to be a great bike if ya have mucho pesos. For a look at what can be done to the "real" Norton Nortons, Google: "Kenny dreer Norton motorcycles"

I bet it will look beautiful in person but sadly I will probably never see one on the road - the closest Norton dealer to me is over 100 miles away in Tampa and it's the ONLY one in Florida. And if they shut down the next closest one is in Chicago or New York - lol. The one in Tampa only has 3 of the Norton Commando bikes for sale including their demo:

I think I'll stick with my ubiquitous Honda at half the price, 90% of the beauty, and infinitely better dealer network :sentimental:

Yah, posted this to chat a few days ago ... looks pretty sick, but man, it's gotta be both rare and expensive.

You can say that again - according to their website it's priced at 28,000 British pound thingies - which is almost US$35,000. With a total of 8 dealers in North America, including 1 in Canada, you could have a V4 powered bike more rare than the RCV213-S at only one fifth the price :witless:

Edit: Here's the vid from their website - that engine sounds very nice - I hear a faint resemblance to the V4 in my Interceptor :)

Those one or two off bikes that bear the name of a marque usually sell fast. Keanu Reeves is a Norton fan. I wonder if he fronted any of the pesos involved. His builder is a whiz..

Weird they never mention Triumph. I guess because Triumph only has a super sport, not a super bike or open class super bike.

Best estimate I have found on price is around $54,600, but I am basing that on an article I read that said it's around 28,000GBP less expensive than the Superleggera, which I have found the price online to be around 72,000 GBP, or roughly 44K GBP. I also don't know if that is for the more expensive SS, or the less expensive RR.

Anyone local to the UK that has a better price on the Ducc?

The Norton/Triumph relationship is here in short form.

Took a much massaged Manx Norton through the traps in SoCal a long time ago. Tossed the ET and top end slips.. Not a clue about the times.. A stock Manx cranked out about 50 hp. That same engine was used in single seat race cars in the UK popular in racing they called "hillclimbs" Lore has it that Stirling Moss cut his racing teeth in one..So did his sister..a fast chica..
