Petition to allow lane splitting in Georgia (GA petition links to NC petition as well)

Hi found this when I searched lane splitting in my home state. Any interested in this or for lane splitting please take the time to sign it and the North Carolina one as well.
The more states that allow lane splitting the sooner it comes to your state.

    Sorry forgot the link

Interesting little game. At first I thought there was going to be something in there about lane splitting, then realized after watching it, it was more about the missing link from the OPs post. Clever!

I like how the guy on the right was insisting how good he was because the other guy was guessing all the answers!

Remind me to thank you for that ;-)
It's fixed now. GA needs lane splitting badly. I always get stuck at the light behind cagers who then turtle race to 10mph under side by side up all 2,3 or 4 lanes.
Then you got the ones on a country road that run 20 through the curves, 35 in the straights when someone's coming and 65 when it's clear to pass.
Hard to get around them without looking like a squid.

Chances of me riding in Georgia are quite slim due only to where I live and where Georgia is but would like to get there someday. But. Other than in California, I doubt I will be doing much lane splitting anywhere that begins to allow it in the near future. It is one thing for us to do the lane sharing, it is quite another to get the fucktards in the cages prepared and accustomed to bikes sharing lanes with them. Maybe, and a very quiet maybe, I may sneak up to the front of the line at a traffic light but evevn this could be disastrous with idiots moving about while waiting for the line to move.

The old math still holds true. Car + Motorcycle X single lane = injured or dead biker.

SoCal has had freeways for many years. Some were very narrow based probably on population at the time an not projections very far into the future. An example would be the Pasadena. Lane splitting done legally is very new. The overall number of bikes in the Greater LA Basin is and has been the base number for many "traffic studies". Lane splitting probably goes back nearly as far as the Pasadena or the Long Beach or the newer or revised freeways and toll roads. My guess is the greater number of "bikers" who split lanes "back in the day" were the dudes shagging blueprints on HD Servicars then replaced by fast guys on smaller displacement bikes delivering and picking up all kinds of portable things as far from Metro LA to Riverside, Lancaster and that hotbed of Republicanism, "OC". ;)

A great move legally in some places allows bikes to operate in the HOV lanes.

The stats and studies above are as accurate as any study using the numbers that got used. Please notice that when "studies" are used to evidence or prove a point, they never say that the human element gets cranked in or at least they don't use stuff from bike forums like this one where everyone is totally honest and encyclopedic in bike knowledge.

If the width of a given freeway can accommodate lane splitting and we can overlook the gloom and doom (sturm und drang) and yes, the fucking rednecks that are not especially from below the Mason-Dixon Line who believe by Holy Trump that their half comes oot of the middle, we might all survive even getting lost in Atlanta when our GPSs show every other street as Peach Tree.

Someone say Pasadena Freeway? This is a shot from the freeway merge lane from North bound 5 to East bound 110. The 110 freeway is LA's oldest freeway and one of the narrowest, as far as lanes are concerned. You can barely tell from this angle but the space between the cars is so narrow that most of the motorcycles, there were two other bikes behind me in the lanes to my left, could not lane split. There was one guy on a Honda XL who tried but didn't get too far! One thing that is a trip on this freeway is the on and off ramps. There is no merge lane! Essentially, from the street entrance, you turn onto the freeway and you're pretty much on the freeway. Conversely, exiting is almost the same difference, once you exit, you're on the street.
