    So...

Had some fun on this over the weekend:

I touched...even with all the liners in my riding pants. Winning!

I have NEVER ridden a moto like it and was instantly in love.

Riding it was effortless, I could flick it around like nothing, the heated grips were really amazing (I know these can be on any moto, but I had never experienced them before so I was WOW-ing in my helmet the whole time), and I can easily cut down the seat for more reach.

Now to make a plan on pimping out myself so I can afford one.

    What is your opinion?

All I know is this slogan is so true and was the essence of another weekend away...so no matter what you ride... :

SMH, now look what you got yourself into, now the mind will play with you. Nothing wrong with trying out bikes, in fact its fun and educational. just be careful what you might like. They have a way of following one home.

Plenty of takers will want to join you with your fund raising endeavors. Keep in mind that a slogan in Texas is, "Money talks and bullshit walks". Also be careful in any chance meetings with Donald Trump.

Ronald Reagan was "The Gipper" , the Donald is "The Grabber".

Nice there is a reason the bimmer is known as "the ultimate driving machine". A guy at work brought his BMW 1200 an RS iirc to have a center stand welded up for it. Really sweet looking and sounding bike , he also has a vf500f and no less than 20 other sport and touring bikes. I haven't had a chance to go riding with him yet, it will have to probably have to wait until spring now.

Seems like multiple bike syndrome is a pretty common "ailment" wasn't on the old VF for a month before I started looking toward a gen 2 ,4 or even 5 vfr. Mainly so I can give the old girl the care, attention, and period mods she needs, then keep her shined up for special occasions.

It's OK tho' your current partner won't mind if you find another , ur moto will sit and wait patiently and probably won't even get jealous.

Oh boy do I wish that moto would have just followed me all the way home.
You are right about my mind playing with me...

I'm determined to figure out how to make this happen.

I'd welcome a chance meeting with The Grabber for a million bux.
Well worth new motos for all muh friends here...even for the Official VFRWorld Troll Of The Year and SOW.
    Take one for the team.

Fund raising endeavors include me pimping myself out to corporate America in a 2nd job.:grey:

But massage parlors, street corners and Craigslist ads could get me to my fundraising goal in probably 1 month instead of 12. :eyebrows:

Yes, as Lint mentioned, him and some other amazing friends here and elsewhere I met on my summer journey have suggested it.

Knowing how much I just love adventures of the crazy kind and the limitations I have on the Viffer when it comes to all terrain, muh friends figure I'd be very pleased with having an ADV.

I see my friend from out east take his ADV on amazing back roads that I'd never try on a Viffer with street tires, loaded down with gear, that I can barely touch on. I'm thinking of the day I got in a jam on the muddy dirt road I tried in Canada where I was nearly hit head on by an RV. THat sucked. I'll never do that again on Viffer, but I see him doing it all the time on his ADV.

I chose Beemer after high recommendations. I also have never ridden any BMW model before, so I had become very interested since this summer.
I've ridden Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Ducati (some sport, some dirt), but never BMW.

Now I know what all the fuss is about. From specs to beauty, I was blown away by all BMW models I saw yesterday.

I still want to try the Africa Twin. But, 33.5 in seat height in lowest setting still won't cut it for my 28 inch inseam.

Whereas I could tippie on the lowest seat setting (suspension unaltered) on the 700gs as shown in the photo.

Yes...now I have to find a way to cure my ailment.

Becuase I got a fever and the only prescription is more moto.

My current partner will deal... :couple_inlove:

OH nooooooo AnneMarie - please don't go to the dark side! I made the same mistake of testing a Bimmer last month and as you can see from my vid below it turned me into a slobbering potty-mouthed juvenile delinquent with no respect for authority - lol. I found the only way to cure my craving for the Bimmer was to take a cold shower and go for a ride on the Interceptor :playful:

I agree. A chance meeting with The Grabber would be the same as pimping yourself oot to corporate America. For the lowdown on BMW bikes of all sorts try The BMW MOA site.

I think SOW has already had his pussy's grabbed and Trump tossing out a figure and actually paying you is IMO, a gamble. The check ain't gonna be in the mail...

BMW makes good reliable bikes, all built for people with long legs it seems. The two I've owned never went in a shop but for book maintenance that I chose not to do.

The Africa twin needs a lot more evolution IMO. Be careful about pimping yourself out. You might like it......or not...; )

You can find a reasonable deal on the slightly older f650gs twin. They do not hold their value like other BMWs but are still good bikes that get great mileage. I have a bit of love/hate relationship with mine. I recently had to figure out a random issue with the bike dying. Turned out to be a fuel pump which was an easy swap, but I spent a little time and money trying to figure it out. I'm getting over it now that I got back from a trip in baja with no issues other than a K&N oil filter incident.

I have an account over at f800forums, and one at ADVrider where I researched a lot before buying. Just to give you an idea of what you'd be getting into: right now I need a sidestand (kickstand) spring. It's $28 online from a parts catalog plus $14 shipping. That's right, not a typo. See attachment.

I would just put heated grips on the VFR...That's not a good looking motorcycle at all don't care who's initial's are on it. I know my opinion. Definitely not worth a few weekends on the stroll

    Too much down on power.
Try getting a seat on a K1300s with the lowered seat. My inside leg is the same as yours, though probably less shapely, and with the lowered seat I felt fine on it.
Spent about 8 months researching and looking at those, then bought my viffer within a week of seeing it in the showroom.
At 53, felt I was a couple of decades too young for a beemer.:chaingun:
