A good friend of mine owns a 2007 CBR600RR and is a member of the 600RR Forums. He showed me a thread where a guys girlfriend came back from Japan with a current magazine. I don't know how true this is, but pictures dont lie. Well I guess they can with photo shop. Let me know what you guys think, and lets start conversing about it. This is the post on the 600 RR Forum:

"My wife just got back from Japan, and brought me back the latest magazine.
Sorry that the picture quality is really bad!
There are Three bikes that caught my attention.
    2008 V4 RVF-RR , Motogp replica 800cc price $30,000-$50,000 U.S. dollars
    2008 VFR , 800cc $12000-$13000 U.S. dollars
    2008 CBR 1000rr, with traction control $14,000-$15,000"

I may have put the wrong name on the wrong picture, so please forgive me if I did, but I think you can figure it out. Well enough of me talking, here are the pictures:

Well if that picture is kosher, then we're looking at a few cosmetic changes at least. The exhaust is back downstairs like the Hornet, front indicators are more like the pan europeans coming out at the top, front fairing is a bit cbr600. Seat looks nice and comfy though.

Quite aggressive styling, of course the big question is what have they done to the engine, is it still Vtec or have they gone back to gear driven cams?

This bike (2008 V4 RVF-RR , Motogp replica 800cc price $30,000-$50,000 U.S. dollars)would have to be the 990cc bike, as Moto GP bike can not be based off of production motorcycles and vice versa. Look what Ducati did with the Desmosedici, it sold out and they have extended the production run, and this bike is going for $65,000.00. I'm not saying that the RVF-RR is not possible, just not as an 800cc machine as who would want to pay that much $$$ for the current VFR engine re-worked in the RFV frame??? We'll see what is reality and fiction shortly as the first bike showsare only a few months away, and the press is generally pretty good at getting their hands on a few leaked pics. Another good website to periodically check is...

I really wish that they would Make these bikes affordable to the masses! it's just a scoshe (someone let me know if you get that) out of my price range. I would be able to do 20K + or - 5k, but 30K+ is excessive. On another note, it would be cool if they made another 400cc version. Hmm, I see a collection brewing.....
Also, It won't matter the cc size. An RVF will be all new. Slipper clutch, vertical cassette tranny, dual stage intake, wire throttle, semi traction control, top of the line suspension technology, new frame etc. You have to remember, when the RC45 debuted, it had things on it that are just becoming standard recently. Honda is about making a technologic statement, total package used to win races, not outright horsepower.

Gott a say i'm more curious about the bottom picture, is it real or not? The others, especially the RVF would cost a fortune, no doubt about that, it would be very exclusive with a very exclusive price.

For those of us mere mortals who use the everyday version, we need to know details about the bottom picture.

    Inverted fork.
Frame uses engine as stressed member.
SSSA off rear of engine case.
    Front mount radiator.
Is that the collector inder the belly? Looks like some thin pipes coming from under the tail too. ???
    Anyone see displacement?

Should be some interesting releases coming in the next few weeks.

I can't see Honda going back to gear driven cams. If you want them, stock up on 5th gen bikes.

The under exhaust is going to be a change.

Personally, I think the VFR pic looks like a Yamaha. I'd take the RWB in 5th or 6th gen skin...

I like the seat, but it doesn't say "Interceptor" on it. The taller windscreen looks nice too. I just got a RWB so don't guess I'll get another one. I'd like to have one of those Jap Bike Mags.

Kinda makes ya wonder how come american or brit mags did not have any spy photos of these bikes if they are printed in a Jap mag out in the open like that. Looks interesting though. Not sure about the bottom exhaust.

I think they are dropping the interceptor name badge again I heard.

I do like how it shows more engine though. I like more open bodywork these days, that or exposed engines altogether.

I totally agree with the guys that say it looks like a Yamaha, I don't think it looks Honda at all really. I don't love the low exhaust, screams Suzuki to me, but I am partial to my high Staintunes. I'd have to see the bike, and would love more power, but if this is the actual bike I won't worry about re-sale on mine there will always be a market albeit small for 6th and especially 5th Gens.

The folks that wanted a more sport bias should be happy:biggrin: I am the other way, almost in FJR territory or maybe Concours but the styling and finish is suspect.

In the bottom picture it looks like a standard mount for the radiator. Also looks like the wind screen could be adjustable. Can't afford a new one this year, but sure would like to see some real pictures. Over all I like it, even if it does look a little like a yammi.

Possibly not, have seen wild model " styling queue " photos published by that " close to Honda " Japanese Mag before.

In 2004 pics of a " New " VTR / Superhawk and " new " VFR pictures for the 2005model year neither of them showed up, then again stranger things have happened so who knows.

I call foul on Eddie... you were given a RWB. I don't guess many bosses would give you one, much less two :caked:

me too. I have seen a thread about the new 08 "VFR". It was bumped to 1000cc. Honda supposedly had patent drawings indicating a VFR1000.

That's why I said I wouldn't get an '08. I was lucky to get the one I got.
Bikes are more fun when they're free!

They all look fake to me, esp. the top 1000RR. Putting the tribal paint scheme from the 05 600RR on an 08 model?

To me it looks like a new 600RR. I do like the engine being more exposed and the radiator where it should be. The new exhaust looks nice. It just makes more sence to me. Why give a bike a higher center of gravity and use all the extra extra pipe to run it out under the seat? I love the looks of the pipe on my 06 GSXR 750. In fact one of my winter projects is to get a stock 06 GSXR pipe to fit on my 93 VFR 750.
